Never one to use rational thought, Alex Jones used a bullhorn to scream at a group of local park workers and hikers who refused admission to his wife because she didn’t make the required reservation, Salon.com reports.
The city of Austin, Texas, Jones’ hometown, reopened a park area called the greenway to the public this past weekend after closing it July 4th. The reopening is contingent on people making a reservation to enter the area as a way to reduce attendance during the coronavirus pandemic.
Jones shouted toward the entry checkpoint, where workers sat in camp chairs and chatted with hikers entering the park “Now you guys use your COVID hoax to like set a checkpoint up to take over the parks and start charging? It’s unconstitutional!”
For the record: COVID isn’t a hoax; it’s completely constitutional; and no one “took over the parks.”
“Her reservation is that we live in a free country,” he added about his wife’s ability to enter the park. “We live in America.”
The workers were largely nonplussed by the radio host’s outburst, ignoring his screaming. One woman continued to text on her cellphone as Jones ranted.
