The Food & Drug Administration has released its first-ever list of medical devices and equipment that the US is in short supply of, and despite the Trump Administration claims that they’ve restocked the national stockpile, PPE, swabs and ventilator are prominently on the list.
During President Trump’s media briefing today, he stated that his Administration had spent billions of dollars to provide supplies for front line medical personnel with the equipment needed to treat the coronavirus.
Trump stated that the United States currently has 65,000 ventilators in stock and that the US is supplying ventilators to other countries who “otherwise wouldn’t get them.”
The FDA list, however, says that the nation has a “limited supply”, as well as a limited supply of gloves, cotton swabs, surgical respirators, and other supplies like gloves and gowns.
