Among documents turned over to the House January 6th Select Committee by Trump ally and disgraced former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik is a December 2020 action plan containing an explosive directive to MAGA activists to target the homes of “weak” Congressional Republicans, swing state election officials, and Republican state lawmakers – among others – with protests and harassment, specifically naming Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and mother-daughter Georgia election worker duo Ruby Freeman and Shae Moss, all three of whom reported groups of MAGA assholes assembling outside their homes in the fraught post-2020 election period, the Independent reports. While the names of the three women appear on pages separate from the “rallies and protests” section of the “Strategic Action Plan”, it nevertheless draws a direct line from the disgraced former President’s campaign and the very real threats of violence they endured.
There is a question of timing in regards to Benson, as the document laid out that the plan was to be executed between December 27th, 2020 and January 6th, 2021, more than three weeks after her Michigan home came under siege. Freeman and Moss’s ordeal is squarely within that stretch however, as Freeman received a bizarre, hostile visit from Kanye West’s former publicist on January 4th, 2021, and was still being harangued by MAGA scumbags until the night of the 6th.
Benson didn’t hold back in a statement to the Independent. “This abhorrent, un-American, failed effort of those unhappy with the results of the 2020 election to try to intimidate me and many others from protecting and defending the will of the voters in our states shows just how far some were – and are – willing to go to undo democracy in America today. Everyone involved in planning these un-American attacks on our democracy must face consequences or we risk seeing an escalated, intensified and potentially more violent recurrence of these attempts,” said Benson.
