In a case of life imitating art, a South Dakota nursing home got a special treat straight out of an episode of “Barney Miller” when a woman brought in a tray of brownies her son baked, not realizing they were his “special” brownie, NBC News reports.
With only medical cannabis legal in South Dakota, Michael James Koranda, 46, of Tabor, was arrested and faces possession of a controlled substance charges. His mother will not be charged.
Koranda reported went to Colorado, where recreational marijuana for adults over 21 is legal, and came home with a pound of THC-infused butter. He baked his brownies and went to sleep. The next morning, his mother awoke and took the brownies to a card game at the nursing home. Later that day, police were called to the nursing home for a “potential poisoning.”
