The second day of the Democratic National Convention started with local elected leaders, from city mayors to Congressional representatives, outlined the accomplishments of Democrats and the groundbreaking people who won those offices.
The myriad of people from around the nation noted the public health catastrophe, an economic collapse, and a racial relations reckoning has struck the country under Trump’s watch, with little leadership.
The people called back Biden’s statement, “It’s a big fucking deal,” a statement he made to Obama when he signed the Affordable Care Act, when listing Biden’s accomplishments.
Stacey Abrams dubbed Trump “the president of cowardice” for retreating from responsibility–as the group who helped in the keynote opening repeated Trump’s claim, “I take no responsibility at all” for the coronavirus crisis–and noted that Biden would promote free and fair elections, support an economy that the US will build back better (a Biden slogan) and return accountability to the White House.
