MacKenzie Scott is the kind of filthy rich elitist I can get behind. The former wife of animated roll-on deodorant and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has just announce a $436 million donation to Habitat for Humanity, her largest single donation yet, Forbes reports.
The favored charity of former President Jimmy Carter, Habitat provides affordable housing to low-income families by rehabbing houses and financing purchases. They also run a network of stores for reclaimed fixtures, furniture and decor from demolition projects.
Ranked the third richest woman in the world with an estimated net worth in excess of $60 billion, Scott gifted approximately $5.8 billion of her estate in 2021 and so far in 2022, she has donated $2.7 billion. She is a signatory of the Giving Pledge, vowing to donate more than half her wealth to charitable causes.
