Fox host, Trump advisor and animated canned ham Sean Hannity sent an average of more than a text message per day to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows prodding him on ways to undermine the 2020 election outcome and reinstall Trump to office, but the messages turned hostile to the people pushing the election fraud lie as Biden’s inauguration neared, CNN reports.
Meadows had multiple text exchanges with various Fox personalities, showing a direct relationship with the messaging developed by the Trump cabal with the help of the right-wing network’s on-air hosts. But the messages with Hannity show the host’s increasing frustration with Trump’s ongoing fixation with his Big Lie.
“Guys, we have a clear path to land the plane in 9 days. He can’t mention the election again. Ever,” Hannity wrote in a text group to Meadows and Republican Ohio Congressman and sexual abuse misprisioner Jim Jordan. “I did not have a good call with him today. And worse, I’m not sure what is left to do or say, and I don’t like not knowing if it’s truly understood. Ideas?”
The texts also show the extreme lengths Fox hosts went to to make sure Trump didn’t appear foolish when he did interviews with the network. Fox hostess Maria Bartiromo gave the White House chief of staff a list of questions she intended to ask Trump during his first interview since the November 2020 election.
“Hi the public wants to know he will fight this. They want to hear a path to victory. & he’s in control,” Bartiromo texted. “1Q You’ve said MANY TIMES THIS ELECTION IS RIGGED… And the facts are on your side. Let’s start there. What are the facts? Characterize what took place here. Then I will drill down on the fraud including the statistical impossibilities of Biden magic (federalist). Pls make sure he doesn’t go off on tangents. We want to know he is strong he is a fighter & he will win. This is no longer about him. This is about ????. I will ask him about big tech & media influencing ejection as well Toward end I’ll get to GA runoffs & then vaccines.”
