The People’s Convoy very much want you to know that the People’s Convoy is still a thing, even though they utterly failed in their stated purpose to cause chaos on the scale their Canadian forebears did in Ottawa in February, now with a lawsuit against the Washington DC Metro Police for “violating their First Amendment rights” by closing off highway exits and blocking their access to surface roads in the capital, the Daily Beast reports. “The District’s blockade policy… is unconstitutionally vague on its face because it allows the District unfettered discretion to refuse to grant Plaintiffs access to the District, thereby depriving Plaintiffs of their constitutional rights to travel and free speech,” says the complaint filed Monday in a DC federal court by the People’s Convoy. They’ve also vowed to return to DC, apparently believing a federal judge is going to put an injunction against the police’s ability to control traffic in the city by the time they get there.
