Elderly granny Senator John Kennedy is far from alone in his butthurt over the leak of the draft opinion from the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade and wanting someone to be prosecuted while also being unable to identify which statue, if any, was violated. You know like the kind of statutes that Trump violated when he took classified documents to Mar-a-Lago that Kennedy was unable to summon the same level of performative outrage for back then. As far as we understand, the secrecy of the Supreme Court deliberations is governed by strictly institutional and professional norms, and it’s simply not a place that requires some level of operational security, unlike say the Pentagon or FBI where leaks can compromise national defense or ongoing criminal investigations.
But that didn’t stop Kennedy and pals from freaking out anyway:
If there's not thorough criminal investigation into who leaked privileged documents from the United States Supreme Court then we live in a clown show state.
For Perspective: The FBI sent 15 people to investigate a garage pull.

The pathetic spineless leak of a draft SCOTUS opinion has the feel of something a sad little woke 20-something-year-old would do. The kind of person who thinks their personal agenda is “more important.” Whoever did it should lose their law license.

…The article represents the greatest crisis that Chief Justice John Roberts has faced in his tenure on the Court. It is a breach of the most fundamental obligations and traditions of the Court.

It’s impossible to overstate how significant the leak of a draft Supreme Court ruling is.
It would be equivalent to a U.S. General coordinating with communist China’s military, for example by promising to give China advance notice of 🇺🇸 military actions.

The stunning leak of the documents showing that the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade is corrosive to the Court.
It is an outrageous consequence of the Democrats’ efforts to undermine the Court! pic.twitter.com/4N3k0Nk7N9

Weird how these assholes’ reaction to finding out what they’ve wanted for decades is to shriek over it being leaked early, as if the month or two lead time before it would’ve officially been made public somehow makes a difference. Almost like they were caught off guard and their first reaction is to distract with some minute matter rather than defend the draft ruling on its substance, as if they know it’s going to be extremely unpopular with the vast majority of the country.
