Democratic Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy goes into the lions’ den of the Fox cable propaganda network onto a show with one of their so-called “straight news” anchors–with “straight news” not meaning news about heterosexuals (which is all you get on Fox anyway unless someone in the LGBTQ community is in trouble or Greg Gutfeld questions his sexuality again). Bret Baier starts throwing out misinformation at Murphy, who calmly and rationally responds to each of them.
But the piece de resistance comes at the end when Baier tries to land a sucker punch by asking Murphy if he taught his children about sex–“the birds and the bees” and “the birds and the birds,” as Baier mockingly put it–at the age of five. Murphy comes back with facts: Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill was specifically targeted at LGBTQ kids, not at discussing sex with children in K-3rd grade, as Baier claimed, because a provision in the bill that would have made any talk about sex illegal was taken out of the bill, by Republicans, before it was passed by Republicans. So it’s not about sex; it’s about shaming LGBTQ kids and kids whose parents are LGBTQ.
