An intriguing hashtag started trending on Twitter this afternoon–#JamesMaxwellTrump–claiming to be the illegitimate child of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein’s recruiter, Ghislaine Maxwell.
The claim was made by an account that had garnered a lot of followers and interest during the Trump Administration: @RogueSNRAdvisor, with more than 200,000 accounts tracking it.
The Twitter account generated a lot of interest, providing what was thought to be genuine insight into the thoughts of the White House. In the last weeks, it teased a big announcement coming on Independence Day–today.
And today it came: a claim that the account was run by “James Maxwell Trump,” known familiarly as “Jimmy Trump.” It even posted a birth certificate from the state of New York, noting that Donald Trump was father and Ghislaine Maxwell as mother.
Then, suddenly, it went blank, changing the account name to @realjimmytrump and deleting all previous tweets. The profile on the account: “You do the math.”
Immediately, the twitterverse went wild with speculation–both positively and negatively. While some elated that another Trump scandal was in the offing, others debunked the birth certificate, noting that its the same number and details as one easily found through Google.
So what’s this all mean?
Well, it’s unlikely to be an illegitimate Trump love child. But it could be a signal that the person who runs the account was either close to being identified by the Trump Administration or the person will be coming forward in another capacity.
Or it could simply be a prankster. In the age of Trump, anything is possible.
