President Joe Biden authorized the delivery of $100 million in military aid to Ukraine using a so-called “presidential drawdown” that allows the President to disperse equipment in the Pentagon’s inventory.
The aid will take the form of 18 155 mm Howitzers as well as 18 tactical vehicles to pull the artillery pieces. Other equipment include three counter-artillery radar units and various parts and field equipment.
“Together with the contributions of our Allies and partners, we will keep security, economic, food, and humanitarian assistance flowing to Ukraine, across the region, and around the world, and further strengthen Ukraine — both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table,” Biden said in a statement.
