Nick Cordero, a Broadway performer who won praise for performances in numerous roles, lost his 91-day battle with coronavirus today at New York’s Cedars Sinai hospital. He was 41 years old.
Nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role of Cheech in the 2014 production of Bullets Over Broadway, Cordero won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical and a Theater World Award for the role.
Cordero also guest-starred in the CBS drama Blue Bloods.
Cordero’s wife, Amanda Kloots, announced in March that he was suffering from a severe case of COVID, for which he was put on a ventilator. He suffered kidney damage and his right leg was amputated due to the disease.
