A reported fire and explosion at a natural gas facility 85 miles south of Wichita, Kansas on Saturday has led officials to order an evacuation of everyone within two miles of the plant, NBC News reports.
Operated by ONEOK, the “natural gas liquids fractionation facility” in Medford, Oklahoma caught fire Saturday afternoon. Witnesses reported hearing an explosion at the plant, but it is unclear if the explosion sparked the fire or if a fire caused an explosion.
ONEOK reports that all employees were accounted for and that there appears to be no injuries. The plant is located in a sparsely populated area of Oklahoma, but because of the risk of a larger explosion, officials have ordered a mandatory evacuation of everyone within a two-mile radius of the plant.
