Mark David Chapman, the man convicted of murdering former Beatle and culture icon John Lennon in 1980, has been denied parole for the eleventh time, the Associated Press reports.
Chapman shot Lennon in front of The Dakota, a well-known apartment building where Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, lived in New York City. Hours before, Lennon had autographed an album cover for Chapman.
Chapman was found guilty in 1981 and sentenced to 20-years-to-life in prison. He is serving his sentence at Wende Correctional Facility in upstate New York. His next parole hearing will be in two years.
