Canadian Twitter user Letitia Montana, an self-described “freedom lover” who frequently posts about her belief that the COVID pandemic is not a serious issue, was escorted out of a Toronto hospital–where she sought care for a broken finger–because she refused to put on a mask.
Went into the Emergency Dept. at St Joseph’s Hospital in #Toronto for a suspected broken finger. I was asked to wear a mask, which I refused to do. As a result, hospital staff asked me to leave and immediately called 3 security guards to escort me out. #filmyourhospital pic.twitter.com/7KlDa11udk

Montana posted a video of her interaction with hospital staff, who repeatedly told her to put on a mask to comply with hospital policy to reduce virus transmission, apparently in an attempt to shame hospital staff and the hospital itself. After repeated refusals to comply with the rule, Montana was escorted out of the hospital by security.
Montana was quickly “ratioed”, with users telling her that she was wrong to endanger hospital staff.
