DC-based rights group Democracy for the Arab World Now – or DAWN – on Thursday filed a criminal complaint in France against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bonesaw for the murder of Jamaal Khashoggi while he’s in the country meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, the AP reports. The French criminal code has “universal jurisdiction” which allows for crimes such as torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, enforced disappearances – all of which would apply to the Khashoggi murder. It’s not likely the Gendarme are going to show up and cuff Bonesaw while he’s meeting with Macron, but it’d sure as hell be interesting if they tried.
