Two weeks after President Trump’s poorly attended rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, new coronavirus cases reported daily in the state have seen a spike as high as 50%, according to information on worldometers.com.
The seven-day moving average for Oklahoma on June 20th, the date of Trump’s rally at the BOK Center, was 281 new cases per day; today, that metric stands at 427 new daily cases. Oklahoma set a new high in reported cases June 30th with 585.
Two high profile people who attended the event–which did not mandate masks or social distancing–are reported to have contracted the coronavirus: former republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, and current Donald Trump Jr. love interest and Fox “News” personality Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Eight members of the Trump campaign’s advance team in Tulsa tested positive for coronavirus, as did an unspecified number of Trump’s security detail.
