Trump-backed candidate John Gibbs, who defeated pro-impeachment Michigan Republican Peter Meijer in a primary last month, in the early 2000s praised a group favoring repealing the 19th Amendment, saying women’s suffrage had turned the US into a “totalitarian state,” CNN reports.
While at Stanford University, Gibbs founded a so-called “think tank” called the “Society for the Critique of Feminism,” arguing that women did not “posess (sic) the characteristics necessary to govern,” and that men are superior because they “think logically about broad and abstract ideas in order to deduce a suitable conclusion, without relying upon emotional reasoning.”
That last bit of course describes what MAGA Republicans, both men and women, lack these days.
