Regina Aviles, 35, joined Gonzales’s staff in 2021 and at some point since separated from her husband after she began effing the 43 year-old married congressman and father of six. Why the mother-of-one doused herself with gasoline and lit a match in the backyard of her home in Uvalde on September 13th is not known, just that it was caught on a home security cam and that Gonzales did not attend her funeral on the 25th. A spokesperson did not deny the affair to the Mail.

The Uvalde Police Department – not exactly an examplar of bravery in law enforcement – blocked the release of public records related to Aviles’s death, even though in Texas records are routinely made public no matter what stage an investigation is at. Cops have withheld the 911 call, video evidence, and police reports while they’ve petitioned Picasso-face Ken Paxton to keep the files sealed. Adding to the mess is that Uvalde PD Chief Homer Delgado disowned an endorsement of Gonzales that the congressman’s staff had tweeted and later deleted on request of the chief.

Gonzales has canceled a shit ton of public events since Aviles’s death. Some, present company included, had for a while considered the congressman to be among the least bad of a pretty fucking bad caucus full of the criminally insane and morally debased. Now while there’s no evidence just yet to suggest that Gonzales had driven Aviles to set herself on fire, the void of information and the shadiness around her death does nothing but invite a shit ton of speculation to that effect.

If that’s the case, then yeah, Tony Gonzales is worse than Cory Mills, as incredible as that sounds.

“On September 18, 2025, at 1456 eastern daylight time, a Cirrus SR22T, N218VB, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Franklin, North Carolina. The private pilot and two passengers were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Preliminary air traffic control information provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicated that the pilot was on an instrument flight rules flight from John C Tune Airport (JWN), Nashville, Tennessee to Macon County Airport (1A5) Franklin, North Carolina. As the pilot approached 1A5, he requested a visual approach to runway 07 from air traffic control. The controller approved the request, and at 1448 the pilot reported the airport in sight. The controller then approved a frequency change to the common traffic advisory frequency. Shortly after, the pilot transmitted (while still tuned to the controller’s radio frequency) that he was at 6,800 ft and intended to perform a 360° turn to land on runway 07. The controller then advised the pilot that he was still on the frequency; there were no further transmissions received from the pilot. Review of preliminary ADS-B data showed that shortly after, the airplane began a descending left turn from an altitude of about 6,300 ft mean sea level. It continued through a 360° left turn before it began to approach runway 7 at an altitude of about 3,300 ft (the airport elevation of 1A5 was 2,033 ft). The ADS-B data ended when the airplane was about 0.5 nautical miles from the runway threshold.”

“Surveillance video showed the airplane flying over the runway before initiating a descending left turn. The airplane continued descending in the left turn before entering a tightening spiral and impacting the ground,” the safety geeks wrote in their findings on Jesus not helping.

A new AARP survey of NYC voters found Mamdani leading Cuomo 43 to 29 percent with Sliwa in third at 19 percent, but Mamdani ahead 45 to 41 percent if Sliwa drops out. It’s not clear if this was what got “Cats” to come out against his own guy but it doesn’t seem all that favorable to Cuomo whether you choose to believe it or not. That it says 2 percent of would-be Republican voters in the electorate are going to go to the socialist dude if Sliwa drops out while another 7 percent just aren’t going to show up at all just seems a little too hopium-y for the “Okay fuck it, Cuomo for mayor” voter.
