Matt Schlapp seeking to discredit accuser by bringing up old racist comments, as if that wasn’t a reason why he was working for GOP

New reporting by the Washington Post about the shitshow at CPAC in the wake of a Herschel Walker campaign staffer’s accusation that chair Matt Schlapp had sexually assaulted him while the staffer was driving Schlapp back to his hotel following an event for Walker in October 2022 includes some interesting details such as alleged homophobic slurs by Schlapp when he was an exec at Koch Industries showing a possible guilty conscience over his true sexual desires and other various but non-specific allegations that he’s a total fucking asshole at the CPAC workplace.

What sticks out a bit more than the rest however is the part that says “In recent court filings, Schlapp has argued that the Walker staffer is proceeding anonymously to avoid scrutiny of his own record, which includes extremist commentary on a white supremacist blog and radio show more than a decade ago. The staffer has disavowed those remarks in interviews with The Post, which does not identify alleged sexual assault victims without their consent,” which we would take to mean that the accuser acknowledges that he said some shit but tried to wash his hands of it.

We went a little back and forth on this and decided not to identify the accuser from a tweet by Schlapp ally and MAGA scumbag Caroline Wren as we’re 99% sure, but not 100% that she named the accuser correctly. We would have tried to look into the comments and reprint them here, but ultimately does it really matter what kind of racist bullshit this guy probably really did say?

Is there anything out there that would make us think that Schlapp and the Walker campaign didn’t associate themselves with this guy because, rather than in spite, of his history as a white supremacist? Are we to somehow believe that Schlapp wouldn’t get drunk with a man who hates Jews when he would invite an Eastern European dictator who hates them too to speak at one of his fanfests? This is supposed to be some sort of defense for a credible accusation of sexual assault?

“These folks are just hoping that Trump’s going to have a heart attack on a golf course one day… Not much of a strategy”

A former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman tells Politico more or less the same thing that former Michigan Congressman Peter Meijer told the Atlantic last month about the national GOP’s wishful thinking on how to get out of the trap the Orange Tyrant is setting for the party in 2024.

“All these folks are just hoping that Trump’s going to have a heart attack on a golf course one day, and that’s going to solve this problem for them,” said Fergus Cullen. “Not much of a strategy.”

QAnon psychopath Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers distances herself from insane “Sinaloa Cartel bribery” conspiracy

Batshit MAGA maniac Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers on Sunday released a statement washing her hands of the insane testimony by Phoenix-area State Farm insurance agent named Jacqueline Breger who claimed a vast conspiracy in which Gov Katie Hobbs and various other elected officials in the state had accepted bribes from the murderous Sinaloa Cartel, which apparently was too much even for Rogers, a woman who said the FBI staged the Buffalo MAGA terror attack.

“To our knowledge, none of the people named had charges filed, have prosecutions pending, nor had any convictions made against them. If any of the allegations presented are in fact true and there’s evidence to support these claims, the Legislature most certainly is not the proper authority to pursue charges,” wrote Rogers in the statement. What Rogers didn’t mention was that Breger’s conspiracy had also reportedly implicated her as having accepted bribes from the cartel.

White House orders TikTok off all federal devices in 30 days

Acknowledging the risk of the Chinese government’s potential access to government information through the app, the Biden Administration ordered executive branch agencies to ensure the social media app TikTok is removed from all federal devices, NBC reports.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has invested heavily in defending our nation’s digital infrastructure and curbing foreign adversaries’ access to Americans’ data,” said Chris DeRusha, the federal chief information security officer. “This guidance is part of the Administration’s ongoing commitment to securing our digital infrastructure and protecting the American people’s security and privacy.”

The order by the White House comes after Congress last week passed legislation in December to ban the app from all federal devices.  There are exceptions to the ban for law enforcement and national security purposes, as well as for research purposes.  It’s unclear if the ban extends to “official” channels for government information.

Man checks arsenal on flight after falsely claiming to be a US Marshal. In unrelated story: US Marshals’ database hacked

A convicted felon from New Jersey with a US Marshal’s badge attempted to board a plane with an AR-15, two loaded Glock handguns, another handgun, a .308 rifle, a spring-loaded knife, a Taser, ammunition and other weapons in his checked baggage, while in a completely unrelated story, the US Marshals Service reported data on its computer systems were breached by a hacker.

From NBC News:  Seretse Clouden attempted to board a flight on December 30th from Newark, New Jersey to Fort Lauderdale, apparently with an overall goal of becoming a Florida Man.  One of the convicted felon’s bag was chosen for a routine screening by TSA agents, who found two Glock .40 caliber handguns loaded with 15-round magazines and a tactical vest bearing the words “Deputy Marshal.”  Upon questioning by law enforcement, Clouden admitted to not being a federal marshal or any law enforcement officer, nor did he have a license to possess or transport the weapons.  After real cops off-loaded his other baggage, they found his arsenal, plus a fake US Marshals badge and forged credentials. He was indicted Monday by federal prosecutors for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon among other charges.

Fulton judge says forewoman didn’t do anything wrong

Fulton County, Georgia Judge Robert McBurney on Monday told ABC News that chatty special grand jury forewoman Emily Kohrs didn’t actually do anything wrong when she spoke to various media last Tuesday about the recommendations the jurors made on indictments of disgraced former Trump and his minions over their coup attempt in the state following Donald’s defeat in the 2020 election as long as she didn’t discuss their actual deliberations – which she didn’t.

“This grand jury’s sole role was to prepare a report that was merely a set of recommendations for the district attorney – full stop. Nothing more. And so folks should think long and hard about what impact, at all, this special purpose grand jury’s work would have should there be an indictment down the road. This grand jury could not and did not bring charges against anyone,” said McBurney.

Trump’s lawyers still have not filed any sort of complaint against the district attorney as of Monday despite promises to take some kind of action to own the libs and their giddy schadenfreude.

LIV Golf tour loses to World’s Funniest Animals in ratings

The TV debut of Saudi tyrant Mohammed Bonesaw’s corrupt LIV Golf promotion on the CW Network on Saturday sucked so badly it was beaten in the ratings by World’s Funniest Animals which aired later in the day, the New York Post reports. What’s worse is that a certain ratings obsessed senior citizen with a financial interest in the tour’s success had promoted it on social media. Very sad.

Murdoch showed pre-air Biden 2020 ads to Kushner: deposition

Media Matters senior fellow Matthew Gertz has obtained a copy of Rupert Murdoch’s deposition in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit against Fox News and is currently tweeting out snippets instead of just giving us a goddamned link to the PDF. One that sticks out is the revelation that Murdoch personally provided Jared Kushner with copies of Biden’s 2020 campaign ads before they aired on the network, which it need not be said was a pretty fucking scummy, cheating move.

“During Trump’s campaign, Rupert provided Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, with Fox confidential information about Biden’s ads, along with debate strategy. (providing
Kushner a preview of Biden’s ads before they were public),” says the filing. It’s not clear what “along with debate strategy means,” as we can’t think of any reason Murdoch would have any inside info on that. Might’ve been just general insight based on past performances vs Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan.

Another reveal in the deposition is that Fox News came pretty close to calling the entire election on November 5th or 6th 2020 but backed off and decided to go second on the 7th after fans lost their shit over the early Arizona call which ruined Trump’s election night plans. And of course how Fox News knowingly lied to viewers about election fraud. Same old shit, different court document.

Tennessee Gov to sign anti-drag bill 46 years after dressing in drag

Republican Tennessee Governor Billy Lee, who this week will sign a bill banning drag shows in the state, dressed up in drag himself while in high school in 1977, International Business Times reports.

We’ll just hazard a guess that this revelation will get Lee into just a little bit more trouble with his state’s MAGA voters than when he dressed up as a Confederate soldier while in college.

Smith and Wesson aiming for critical “Proud Boys” demo

An now-deleted earlier version of the same tweet saved by Meidas Touch neglected to mention that the gun manufacturer’s new apparel line is called “Perception Brand.” They needed that little extra dash of wink-wink deniability for the inevitable backlash that’ll come from obviously marketing to a violent fascist domestic terrorist group whose leaders are probably going to get convicted of seditious conspiracy against the United States government within the next few weeks.

Traitor Steven Seagal awarded BFF status by Putin

Traitor Steven Seagal, star of action classics Exit Wounds, Hard To Kill, Above the Law, Under Siege, Out for Justice, and On Deadly Ground back when he loved America, has been awarded the state “Order of Friendship” medal by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Meduza reports.

National Zero’s editorial position is still “Steven Seagal can go fuck himself.” It has not changed. If anything our feelings are less hurt now than they were two years ago. He’s dead to us.

Lawyer for Capitol rioter who threw lit firecracker at cops during attack says defendant is getting more involved with his church

At the Monday sentencing hearing for Capitol rioter David Judd, who was hit with 32 months in the joint after he was caught on tape throwing a lit firecracker into a tunnel entrance of the Capitol during the January 6th, 2021 MAGA insurrection and then convicted in August on charges of civil disorder and assaulting/impeding police, Judd’s lawyer told Judge Trevor McFadden that her client’s actions “were completely out of character” and that he’s getting more involved in his church, according to a thread by workaholic CBS News Capitol correspondent Scott MacFarlane.

What sticks out here is – if MacFarlane’s reporting is to be credited and no reason not to – the usage of the present tense “getting more involved with his church” in an ex post facto act of contrition for his crime. It’s obviously a contrast to a number of his fellow insurrectionists who subsequent to the attack got caught doing things like selling fake COVID vax cards, planting a hidden camera in a tanning booth to spy on a woman while she was naked, and assaulting a woman in a bar, threatening FBI agents or even their own kids, or killing a woman in a head-on DWI crash. Judd is at least pretending to behave himself (if his lawyer is telling the truth here). Still, like we’ve said again and again, we’ve still yet to see an example of one who lived a life of sincere virtue prior to January 2021.

Well actually we could have also led with the Judd’s lawyer, Elizabeth Mullin, telling the judge she’s “an Obama supporter. If Obama told me to be in the streets to protest in 2008, I’d have been out there in the streets.” That might make the rounds on other sites. And then there’s that the judge said Judd was “slightly exculpated because he was ‘there at the behest of the president.'” That’s probably kind of significant when a judge rules that Trump bears responsibility for the attack.

Peru running out of space in special prison for ex-presidents

The Peruvian jail system is going to run out of space in its special ex-presidential prison when former President Alejandro Toledo is extradited from the US, as expected, since the Barbadillo jail is already full with ex-leaders Alberto Fujimori and Pedro Castillo behind bars there, Bloomberg reports.
