A new study found 43% of American gun owners keep their firearms loaded and half of the people who keep their guns loaded do not keep the loaded weapons stored securely, an extreme danger particularly that leads to children’s deaths, ABC News reports. The leading cause of death in children under the age of 19 is weapons, with accidental shootings and suicides as two of the largest subsegments.

In the Center for Disease Control and Prevention study, households in eight states were questioned for the study:  Alaska, California, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio and Oklahoma.  Safe storage practices varied across the country, but households in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Nevada had the highest rates of unsafe gun storage.

As Donald Trump’s poll numbers sink and Joe Biden’s rise in polls following Trump felony convictions, Republicans are desperate to misinform their audience with recirculating conspiracy theories that “the elders” in the “Democrat Party” are going to reject President Joe Biden’s nomination as the incumbent sitting for reelection after dominating in the primaries.

Justice Department: “A Fort Worth man has been charged with threatening an FBI agent involved in a high-profile investigation, announced US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Leigha Simonton. Timothy Muller, 43, was charged via criminal complaint on Thursday with interstate threatening communications and influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a federal official. He was arrested outside his home on Thursday morning without incident. According to the complaint, Mr Muller allegedly placed a call to an FBI special agent at 5:03 pm on June 11.”

“The agent was known to have been involved in an investigation into a laptop belonging to [Hunter Biden]. Shortly before Mr Muller allegedly placed his call to the agent, media outlets reported that [Hunter Biden] had been convicted following a trial related to a 2018 firearm purchase. According to the complaint, Mr Muller said, ‘hey,’ and the agent disconnected the call. Mr Muller immediately called back and allegedly left a one-minute and five-second message threatening the agent and his family: ‘You can run, but you can’t fucking hide,’ Mr Muller allegedly said. ‘You covered up child pornography. You covered up [Hunter Biden] raping his own fucking niece.'”

Satisfied with losing one-fifth of its stock price as the company addresses lowering sales and exploding batteries, Tesla’s shareholders re-approved social media troll Elon Musk’s $56 billion pay package, CNBC reports.  It’s a purely symbolic act, thumbing the corporate nose at the Delaware corporate judge who ruled Musk’s compensation plan wasn’t faithfully negotiated because Musk controlled the members of the board who negotiated it.

A group of shareholders successfully sued in Delaware, where Tesla is incorporated, to void the deal saying the board would have uncritically approved anything Musk presented, breaching their fiduciary responsibilities.  While the court’s order to renegotiate Musk’s compensation again stands, Musk can use the vote as justification for reimposing the old agreement or a similar one.

In a bit of spite, Tesla’s shareholders also approved a Musk-demanded motion to officially relocate the corporate headquarters from Delaware to Texas.

While the United States Congress suffers from a general lack of intelligence on the conservative side of the aisle, the UK Parliament could get its first AI member after the next general election, NBC News reports.  The candidate “AI Steve” wants to represent Brighton and Hove, a city on England’s southern coast, and will be represented in the physical form by Steve Endacott, a local businessman who vows to let his AI counterpart make all his voting decisions.

“AI Steve is the AI co-pilot,” Endacott explained. “I’m the real politician going into Parliament, but I’m controlled by my co-pilot.”  The system, represented by an avatar that looks like a healthier Doug Burgum, takes information and questions in and then processes the information to determine policies.  If it doesn’t have a pre-existing policy, it will solicit information from users.

AI Steve isn’t the first AI candidate; a wily American in Wyoming put the AI creation VIC on the ballot for mayor of Cheyenne, vowing the AI bot will make all key decisions in office.

Florida MAGA Congressman and shitty home improvement enthusiast Greg Steube tells Fox News that on Friday he’ll be introducing a bill to rename the US Exclusive Economic Zone – the 12 mile buffer before international waters around the American shores on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic Oceans – to the “Donald John Trump Exclusive Economic Zone of the United States.”

Steube told Fox that Trump “cares about the strength and resilience of our oceans… During his time in office, President Trump took several commendable actions for our oceans as part of his work to make America strong, secure, and economically prosperous. I’m honored to introduce legislation that will rename our coastal waters after President Trump and serve as a reminder of his many contributions to our nation for generations to come.” And yes there are grown men who act like this.

Convicted felon former President Trump on Thursday vowed to destroy former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s 2024 Senate campaign, telling Fox News’s Aishah Hasnie he’ll be endorsing Hogan.

“I’d like to see him win. I think he has a good chance to win… I know other people made some strong statements, but I can just say from my standpoint, I’m about the party and I’m about the country, and I would like to see him win,” said Trump just two weeks after his campaign Chris LaCivita had offered Hogan a bit of moderate street cred by freaking out over a tweet in which the former governor had asked people to respect the outcome before Trump was actually convicted.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin on Thursday announced his investigation into far right Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has found that Clarence took “three additional gifted private trips” from Texas MAGA billionaire “Harlan Crow, which Thomas failed to disclose.”

There were four different explanations from all five Republican Wisconsin congressmen on the record after convicted felon former President Trump said Milwaukee was a horrible place. And this is not like the journalistic record, this is from the campaign press shop that Cheung actually runs.

Republican Hawaii State Representative Kanani Souza is now on her third attempt to get a judge to issue a restraining order against her MAGA primary opponent, Sheila Medeiros, with Souza complaining that Medeiros won’t stop following her around and staring at her during public appearances and in session in the state legislative chambers, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.

“This is how I feel, run your own campaign. I’m not talking about her,” said Souza, who alleges that Medeiros is mentally ill and is obsessed with her, even following Souza to an “invited VIP guest” appearance at Mauka Lani Elementary School’s May Day show where Medeiros “stood directly across from me by the hedge and stared at me aggressively again.” The self-described conservative Christian candidate, who again we must note would stalk her opponent at a fucking elementary school, lol, tells the Star-Advertiser that Souza is – get this – “weaponizing” the justice system.

“The recurrence of such complaints does not come as a surprise. It is a strategy aimed at stifling questions from me as her constituent and political opponent in exposing her public record during the campaign. As an elected official, Souza must recognize that I fulfill the dual roles of being both a constituent and a contender,” said Medeiros on why she keeps messaging and “aggressively” staring at the HD-43 lawmaker constantly while she’s working in session in the chamber.

A new Gallup survey finds that 23 percent of respondents identify as pro-choice and say they’ll only vote for candidates who share their views on abortion – up from 17 percent last year – versus 8 percent identifying as pro-life saying the same, down from 10 percent last year, Axios reports.

“The surge in single-issue voters who are ‘pro-choice’ could spell trouble for vulnerable Republicans. Some have already distanced themselves from hardline views on abortion over fears of an Election Day rout in November,” the normally more GOP-friendly Beltway news outlet writes.

On deck as witnesses are Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (who’s already delivered his fascistic and not really subtly anti-semitic opening statement), Republican FEC Commissioner Trey Trainor, lawyer Elizabeth Price Foley, and Dem witness Norm Eisen, media legal expert and former Obama Admin official, who was in the courtroom very often during Trump’s trial in Manhattan.

A police officer in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday motioned to recuse a magistrate who had just revoked the cop’s wife’s bail in an unspecified criminal case, specifically by pulling out his service pistol and shooting the jurist, Makadara Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti, the BBC reports.

Bailiffs immediately moved to respond by shooting the cop dead. Kivuti took a round to the hip but is expected to recover fully. “As the judiciary family, we wish our colleague a quick recovery. We also send our condolences to the family of the officer who lost his life in this unfortunate incident,” said chief registrar of the judiciary Winfridah Mokaya following the heated courtroom exchange.
