There was a lot of dumb shit said in the New York Times’s focus group of 11 undecided voters reacting to fat former President Trump’s felony conviction, moderated by Kevin McCarthy’s former roommate, Republican pollster Frank Luntz. On net it probably wasn’t good for Trump if this is what few remaining undecided voters nationally are thinking as five said they would vote for Biden, three for Trump, two for Robert F Brainworms Jr, and one said she would stay home if the election were held tomorrow. But a lot of it was still fucking stupid, mostly on the part of the MAGA curious.

One of the Trump-leaners said he’s mad the jury convicted Trump because they “they listened to witnesses like Cohen and took him at his word.” Another Trump guy, who’s waiting to see who Donald picks as a running mate, called the fat bastard “an antihero,” explaining it as “Trump is not a moral compass to a lot of his supporters. He’s the bad guy that’ll do things on our behalf. He’s the Tony Soprano or the Walter White.” Apparently reacting to Biden’s response to the verdict, one of the RFK Jr leaners said “Well, I would say Biden now is off the table after today, but I think today’s action… I think Biden looks ungracious and looks incredibly weak to me. I can envision a scenario where a lot of undecideds who maybe won’t pull the lever for Trump run to Robert Kennedy Jr.”

The funniest takeaway from the verdict: “I want a president who’s going to be able to cover up a $130,000 bribe to Daniels. If he can’t pull that off, I’m not going to trust him with the nuclear football. This seems like such an easy thing for him to screw up. I’m kind of leaning toward Biden now.”

Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday appointed MAGA Congressmen Scott Perry, who is still under federal criminal investigation for his involvement in the post-2020 election coup attempt, and Ronny “Dr Feelgood” Jackson, the unstable former White House physician who handed out Adderall and Xanax like they were candy to his fellow Trump minions, to the House Intelligence Committee which is kind of an important panel tasked with taking the job seriously, Politico’s Olivia Beavers reports.

Perhaps wanting to spare a fellow Black congressman some embarrassment, or maybe not since everyone already knows who it is anyway so what’s the difference, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Wednesday made it known that the Jim Crow era was not actually great for Black families.

The People’s opposition will address whether, if at all, it would be appropriate to tailor aspects of the Court’s Orders given the conclusion of the trial,” says the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in response to convicted felon former President Trump’s lawyers seeking a lift of Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order prohibiting the fat fuck from whining and shitposting about the witnesses, the judge’s family, and prosecution attorneys.

As an extra “fuck you,” the top signer on the letter to Merchan is Assistant DA Matt Colangelo, the former DOJ official at the center of the MAGA fantasy that this was a “Biden trial.”

A British woman has been arrested on charges of assault by beating and criminal damage for throwing a milkshake at white nationalist UK candidate Nigel Farage, a Trump fanboy and former reality show contestant currently running for a Parliament seat in Essex, Sky News reports.

Details such as the flavor of the milkshake 25 year-old Victoria Bowen threw were not available.

Black MAGA Congressmen Byron Donalds and Wesley Hunt hosted a “cigars and cognac” event for Black men at a bar in Philly on Tuesday, inviting a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter who got Donalds on the record saying some, uh, pretty fucked up shit about the pre-Civil Rights era.

“You see, during Jim Crow, the Black family was together. During Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative – Black people have always been conservative-minded – but more Black people voted conservatively. And then [the former US Department of Health, Education and Welfare], Lyndon Johnson – you go down that road, and now we are where we are,” said Donalds.

The bar of course is located in one of Philly’s whitest, most conservative neighborhoods, as is the new “outreach office” whose opening Hunt and Donalds had attended earlier in the day. “The crowd at the office opening in a tight Holmesburg rowhouse, formerly an optometrist’s office, was diverse, but the census tract is 65 percent white, and the ward voted for Trump in 2020,” the Inquirer wrote.

Further down they mentioned that the sign-in sheet for the cognac bar event, which did draw a mostly Black crowd, showed about half of the signers had out-of-town addresses.

In what could be seen as a symptom of his extreme paranoia, a precaution in response to real threats to his safety, or some combination thereof, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has at least since last year taken to wearing body armor under his suit, the Moscow Times reports.

A Cape May, New Jersey real estate developer beat Trump-endorsed MAGA candidate Christine Serrano-Glassner to take the Republican New Jersey Senate nomination, dealing another blow to the armor of Donald Trump among traditional moderate Republicans.

In a battle of two largely self-funded candidates, Curtis Bashaw spent more than $1.4 million to defeat Serrano-Glassner, who didn’t even shell out one-third of that to buy the nomination, according to the New Jersey Globe.  The political neophyte’s victory is even more hurtful to Trump because Bashaw entered the late race and quickly secured top-line status on the ballot in eleven heavily populated counties.  New Jersey’s county Party leaders get to decide who appears on the top line of the ballot, giving that character a defacto endorsement and a major advantage.

Bashaw will now take on popular Congressman Andy Kim and guy who says the gold bars belong to his wife Bob Menendez, if Menendez isn’t convicted in his ongoing corruption trial.  Menendez’s son, Robert, easily won his Congressional Democratic primary for reelection to his 8th District seat.

Tim Sheehy–either an irresponsible Navy SEAL with a weapon or a clumsy camper with a weapon who may or may not have shot himself in Afghanistan or at a national park–won the Republican nomination for the US Senate seat for Montana, according to the New York Times.  Sheehy will take on Democrat Jon Tester in one of the key races that could determine control of the Senate.

Democratic New Jersey Congressman Andy Kim easily captured the Party nomination to succeed disgraced sitting Democratic Senator Bob Menendez who will run as an independent if he’s not convicted of the federal corruption charges he’s being tried for, accused of trying to rig the US imported halal meat market to favor an Egyptian company.

The race really wasn’t close, with the third-term Congressman being declared the winner by the Associated Press minutes after the polls closed.  Kim came to national attention for his efforts to clean up the Capitol building after the January 6th Republican-led domestic terrorist attack on Congress.

The FBI investigation into potential corruption by Democratic New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez started after Menendez’s then-girlfriend/now-wife Nadine Arslanian asked a subject under FBI surveillance, “What else can the love of my life do for you?” a federal agent testified at the Senator’s trial.

Per the Associated Press, FBI investigator Terrie Williams-Thompson said she overheard Nadine Arslanian ask the FBI target the question while dining at Morton’s steakhouse in Washington in 2019.  The Menendezes are accused of accepting cash, gold bars, cars and other benefits from an Egyptian importer of halal meat from Egypt that was under investigation for potentially running a monopoly.

One of the three other men at the table that day has flipped and will testify for the prosecution, and the other two will be tried together later.  Nadine Menendez will be tried separately from her husband.  Williams-Thompson weaved a story of undercover agents–including one posing as the target’s Uber driver–surreptitiously recorded the meeting at Morton’s using multiple teams and secret cameras.

The available medical research doesn’t support the use of MDMA as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, an FDA advisory panel determined, temporarily stifling efforts to get the drug authorized as a medical treatment, NPR reports.

A growing amount of evidence–both anecdotal and clinical–suggests the use of psychedelics like MDMA, also known as ecstasy and molly with the festival kids, help patients suffering from disorders like PTSD, depression, anxiety and addiction.  However, by a 10-to-1 vote, the panel determined that the benefits to taking MDMA do not outweigh the risks.

In testimony, FDA researchers noted gaps in the data, while panel members raised questions about potential undeclared bias from some of the researchers.  Advocates for PTSD patients had hoped that the FDA would approve MDMA as the first new treatment for the disorder in more than two decades.
