Stewart Lucas Murrey, who claims a Ph.D. from Yale with two books (Hölderlin’s Dionysiac Poetry and Nietzsche: The Meaning of Earth) on his CV, sued sixty women claiming the Facebook group undertook libel, sex-based discrimination, gender violence, invasion of privacy and conspiracy, along with other allegations based on discussions about him that were, unsurprisingly, overwhelmingly negative.  He’s seeking $2.6 million in damages, and he’s set up a GoFundMe to finance the effort.  As of 12:08 a.m. ET, three anonymous donations account for all $155 toward the $60,000 goal.

“The acts of these defendants are hate-fueled and unrelentless,” reads a statement on Murrey’s website where he seeks to justify his lawsuit as one for men’s rights fighting against slander. “One can name them a female version of incels: ‘femcels.’ The glue of their group is their hatred of men.”  He’s not the only one who feels that way:  a 32-year-old man from Chicago, Nikko D’Ambrosio, is also suing the group and 27 separate women after discussions about him included the words “very clingy very fast” by a woman who had a brief sexual relationship with him.

Self-proclaimed free speech advocate who bought Twitter in his $44 billion crusade to re-platform underrepresented whiny white racists in the United States Elon Musk lost his lawsuit to censor an advocacy group that reported on the increase of hate speech on dead-named Twitter since Musk’s October 2022 takeover, CNN reports.

Musk blamed the Center for Countering Digital Hate for losing tens of millions of dollars in advertising after the group studied posts on the platform and released its findings.  Musk’s company claimed CCDH violated the platform’s terms of service by releasing its results, and therefore Musk wanted the court to order the group to withdraw the report.

Northern California District Judge Charles Breyer, however, saw through Musk’s effort, saying the petulant billionaire’s aims were clear.   “Sometimes it is unclear what is driving a litigation.  Other times, a complaint is so unabashedly and vociferously about one thing that there can be no mistaking that purpose,” Breyer wrote. “This case represents the latter circumstance.  This case is about punishing the Defendants for their speech.”

Stemming from an investigation by the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, Larry Householder now faces ten state felony counts relating to a scheme to get a $1 billion bailout for two nuclear energy plants run by FirstEnergy Solutions.  Adding salt to the wound:  the state charge target Householder’s use of $750,000 from his reelection campaign fund for the defense in his federal criminal case.

One of the charges brought by Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is a count of first-degree theft in public office, which upon conviction would bar Householder from electing for public office or even holding a government job.  Why he needs to be convicted on state charges to be excluded from office after a conviction on federal RICO charges seems to be an unnecessary redundancy to have to do over again.

The Department failed to produce the audio recordings of the interviews, which the Committees specifically prioritized in our March 9 letter. According to news reports, several news outlets received and reviewed the transcripts of Special Counsel Hur’s interviews with President Biden before they were produced to the Committees, despite the Department’s representation that it had only completed the ‘interagency review’ of the transcripts the morning of March 12 shortly before it produced the transcripts to the Committees. Because the Department and the White House were presumably the only two entities with copies of the transcripts before the Committees received them, we can only assume that, for political purposes, the Department and White House provided the transcripts to news outlets before the Department completed its ‘interagency review’ process.”

“If that is not the case, we can only assume that the Department misled the Committees about the timing of its completion of such process. The Department continues to withhold additional material responsive to the Committees’ subpoenas… Accordingly, the Committees expect you to produce all responsive materials no later than 12:00 pm on April 8, 2024. If you fail to do so, the Committees will consider taking further action, such as the invocation of contempt of Congress proceedings.”

Love how salty they are about the timing of when the transcript dropped. Like that’s not even really germane to their contempt threat and most of the letter is about how mad they are that the exchanges largely contradicting Hur’s characterization hit the media right before Hur’s hearing.

A Detroit woman is lucky to be alive after her daring escape from the moving vehicle of a suspected kidnapper on Sunday, McClatchy Wire reports. Michigan State Police responded to the scene along I-96, where witnesses had reported seeing the unnamed woman leap out of the black car. Michigan State Police quickly responded to the scene and took her to a local hospital for an evaluation.

The woman was not seriously hurt and the suspected kidnapper turned out to be “suspected” only to her, as the MSP Second District later tweeted “As troopers were investigating the incident, a ride-share driver called and stated that a female had jumped out of his vehicle after she stated that she did not like the route he was taking her downtown and then jumped out of the vehicle. The female was transported to a local hospital where she is in alert and stable [condition]. During she interview it was determined she was under the influence of marijuana and had anxiety because she saw a sign that said Port Huron and panicked thinking he was taking her somewhere else.”
