Nikki Haley’s campaign forms “delegate committee” for convention

FEC filing expert Rob Pyers on Monday flagged a new statement of organization notice for “TEAM STAND FOR AMERICA,” a South Carolina-based “2024 Delegate Committee” supporting former Governor Nikki “Birdbrain” Haley for what Pyers writes “can help with expenses in getting its delegates to the Republican National Convention in July.” What’s less clear is if this is a “just-in-case” backup or if Haley is for real with launching a floor fight against the Orange God Emperor at his big re-coronation event. Politico Playbook reports they ran the numbers and determined that the primary will be over completely by March 12th, or March 19th at the latest, when Trump will have clinched the majority of “bound delegates” to the presidential nomination.

Breitbart urges fans to “divest” from New York City

This naked impotence would be sad if it wasn’t so goddamned funny. They really think they’re going to make a dent in the city’s economy by not coming to shop at the M&Ms store in Times Square and ride in those stupid open-top double decker bus safari tours. More significant would be if they pulled their deposits from Chase, Citibank, and all the others based in the city, or stop watching Fox News and Newsmax, to which we say please by all means. Bring on the pain, lol.

Trump’s fundraising is sad, pathetic and disqualifying

Yeah, we can laugh at the GoFundMe effort to pay Donald Trump’s $450 million judgment handed down in the New York City fraud trail.  (The fund now has more than $560,000 in donations from 7,200 suckers.) But the hard fact of the matter is that Donald Trump claims he’s going to appeal the judgment, which by law in New York, means he needs to put 120% of the amount due up to file the appeal.

Remember, there are two cases Trump says he’s appealing, both of which require cash up-front:  E. Jean Carroll will tie up about $85 million over the course of Trump’s appeal, and his New York financial fraud case will require at least half a billion to finance the appeal.  Estimates put Trump’s cash reserves between $400- and $600 million, meaning that if he needed to put his own money up for it, he could foot most of the bill, but it would be crippling.

So what’s Trump do?  Sure, GoFundMe might be able to cover the difference–oh, and don’t forget the tax such crowdfunding efforts incur; you don’t want to add to Don’s problems, do you?–but it would literally take years at this pace.  He’s precluded from doing business with any financial institution in New York. And what bank without a relationship with him would loan him the money?  Who–oh, who?–will?

Scott: Nikki Haley campaign reeking of desperation

After Nikki Haley’s campaign said that the Republican candidate would make a “major announcement” on Tuesday regarding her presidential quest, her Senate appointment Tim Scott wants her to bow out of the race to pave the way for the indicted felon he supports.

“Listen, Nikki Haley has run the best race that she can run, and lately her campaign has been descending, honestly, it’s desperation you feel coming from her camp,” Scott says, being familiar with the odor having sensed it from his “girlfriend” when he asked her out the first time.

Discover to be what’s in Capitol One’s wallet, if deal approved

In a deal that would merge the top two credit card companies in the United States, Capital One will acquire Discover in an all-stock transaction valued at $35.3 billion, CNN reports.  While Discover is also a credit card network similar to Visa and American Express, Discover also issues its own cards and credit lines independent of a bank sponsor, bridging services of the card providers–traditionally banks, credit unions and other financial institutions–and the commercial networks.

Alabama Supreme Court rules frozen embryos are people

In a ruling that sends tremors through the reproductive rights circles because it could targets artificial fertilization, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are people and that someone who destroys them can be held liable for their deaths, the Washington Post reports.

The case does not involve the intentional destruction of embryos that were not used in fertilization, a common practice after a patient ends in vitro fertilization treatments where multiple fertilized eggs are implanted in the patient’s uterus with doctors making multiple attempts.  In this case, an individual accidentally dropped and broke a container holding a couple’s fertilized eggs, destroying them.  The couple sued the individual for wrongful death under state law.

“{Alabama’s Wrongful Death of a Minor Act] applies to all children, born and unborn, without limitation,” the Alabama Supreme Court wrote. “It is not the role of this Court to craft a new limitation based on our own view of what is or is not wise public policy. That is especially true where, as here, the People of this State have adopted a Constitutional amendment directly aimed at stopping courts from excluding ‘unborn life’ from legal protection.”

Feds charge freelance journalist for making threats to “kill every Jew” during drunken nightime emails to local police, the CIA

The FBI charged a freelance reporter from Indiana with making threats over state lines after posting online that he intended to “kill every Jew” in Fort Wayne and “shoot every pro-Israel U.S. government official,” ABC News reports.  Friends first reported concerns about 41-year-old Jeffrey Stevens after he made a series of inflammatory on Facebook about the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel.

But Stevens didn’t stop there:  he also posted on the CIA’s website as series of anti-Israel comments including one saying he was going to kill every US official who supported Israel and to “make sure that every CIA member who is pro-Israel is eliminated.”  And that still wasn’t enough for the claimed inebriant:  he then emailed the Fort Wayne police department promising to kill every Jew in the city.  Now, Stevens faces five years in prison

Wisconsin voters now have balanced legislative districts

After years of Republican efforts to stave off their loss of power, Democratic Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers approved the new legislative district maps that will likely finally end more than a decade of gerrymandered Republican dominance of the state Legislature, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 99-seat State Assembly, now with a near-GOP supermajority of 64 Republicans to 35 Democrats will now have 36 districts leaning Republican and 35 favoring Democrats, with eight deemed by state political pundits as toss-ups.  Fearing a liberal-leaning state Supreme Court would impose a far less-moderate solutions, Republican leaders in the state accepted a map drawn by Evers after losing every court battle as they sought to secure a highly gerrymandered map they created to stay in power.

Want to live in a confined space for a year? NASA needs YOU

“NASA is seeking applicants to participate in its next simulated one-year Mars surface mission to help inform the agency’s plans for human exploration of the Red Planet. The second of three planned ground-based missions called CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog) is scheduled to kick off in spring 2025. Each CHAPEA mission involves a four-person volunteer crew living and working inside a 1,700-square-foot, 3D-printed habitat based at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. The habitat, called the Mars Dune Alpha, simulates the challenges of a mission on Mars, including resource limitations, equipment failures, communication delays, and other environmental stressors. Crew tasks include simulated spacewalks, robotic operations, habitat maintenance, exercise, and crop growth. NASA is looking for healthy, motivated US citizens or permanent residents who are non-smokers, 30-55 years old, and proficient in English for effective communication between crewmates and mission control. Applicants should have a strong desire for unique, rewarding adventures and interest in contributing to NASA’s work to prepare for the first human journey to Mars. The deadline for applicants is Tuesday, April 2,” says NASA’s casting call.

British man jailed just for trying to make people laugh

A 30 year-old Essex, England man is in big trouble after the uptight stiffs at the Basildon Crown Court decided he wasn’t so funny, Sky News reports on the 35 month bid Thomas Salton is facing for getting caught with nearly 500 canisters of nitrous oxide, aka laughing gas.

The 1,013 grams of ketamine and £39,000 in cash Salton was caught with were no laughing matter either. Maybe he should’ve sold bootleg Monty Python DVDs instead. Those are supposedly hilarious. The boomers really love the ones with the Spanish Inquisition and the dead parrot.

“That’s what I think”

It’s not clear why these two are acting like Trump didn’t post what he did about Navalny four hours before this interview. Or maybe Cavuto knows about it but Texas Congressman Pat Fallon doesn’t – Cavuto’s known to be a ball-breaker to the MAGA crowd. This definitely was Monday too, the Dow Futures index was at that very level at that very time, per CNBC. Still funny either way how this jackass Fallon is so certain that Trump is going to be “just as appalled” over Navalny’s death.

Larry Hogan forgot there was an abortion ballot measure this year

Republican former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan probably forgot there was an abortion access measure on the ballot this year in his state before he launched his Senate campaign, the AP doesn’t report but kind of implies in a story about both likely ending up on the ballot in November – especially because his 2022 veto of expanded access is probably going to bite him in the ass.

Inmate P01135809 thinks he’s found the answer to all his troubles

“ALL POLITICAL PROSECUTIONS OF YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT, ME, MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ELECTION, PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, AND THESE RADICAL LEFT LUNATIC PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DOING THIS. WHY DIDN’T THEY START THREE YEARS AGO??? BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024, THAT’S WHY!”

“According to Section 9-85.500 of the Justice Department’s Justice Manual: ‘Federal prosecutors and agents may never select the timing of any action, including investigative steps, criminal charges, or statements, for the purpose of affecting any election, or for the purpose of giving an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party.’ THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE, AND MUST BE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH ANY FAKE PROSECUTIONS BEFORE THE ELECTION. THIS IS COMMUNISM, AND A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. OUR COUNTRY WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” posted fat angry Donald on Monday.

Apologies for overdoing the Trump posts, but this one’s good as, per usual, there’s a pretty major problem with it. Well, two actually. First off is that it’s traditionally only in effect 60 days before an election, and we’re currently 260 days away from November 5th. Second, is that it only applies to prosecutors, not courts. The courts are in command now and once a case starts the judge – like Tanya Chutkan – is in control of the schedule. Chutkan doesn’t care about the 2024 election.

Just when you fascist New York City libs thought you were safe…

Texas judge who once let a dude get executed because lawyers didn’t send in a fax on time not conservative enough for Ken Paxton

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s wild primary challenge revenge tour isn’t just limiting its scope to the Republican state House members who voted to impeach the Picasso-faced scumbag last year, but state appellate judges who didn’t have his back in an “election integrity” jurisdictional pissing contest with a Southeast Texas district attorney who declined to prosecute a local county sheriff over some probably made-up campaign finance crime, the Texas Tribune reports.

One of the three jurists on the Court of Criminal Appeals Paxton is targeting is Presiding Judge Sharon Keller, sort of famous for one pretty fucked-up 2007 incident for which she came preeetty close to getting disbarred over it. Complicated story as short as possible: The lib lawyers at the Texas Defender Service were trying to get a stay for a rapist and murderer named Michael Wayne Richard who was scheduled to be executed that evening. Although the US Supreme Court had already denied the stay for Richard, Los Supremos did grant one in a similar-enough case in Kentucky, the Texas Defenders called the court asking to file an emergency motion asking for a stay, but they needed more time due to computer issues. “We close at 5,” was all Keller said.

The story’s more complicated than that and the lawyers had embellished a lot of details to make Keller look bad. On top of all that it wasn’t her case and it’s not clear what the lawyers told her before she informed them the court closes at 5. Keller was eventually cleared of misconduct charges but she gained a reputation – deserved or otherwise – for being a cold, heartless bitch nicknamed “Sharon Killer.” Which makes it just pretty goddamned comical that Ken Paxton is now accusing her of being in hock to Soros. “I’ve been a conservative judge for a long time, I know the law, and I know how to run the court,” Keller told the Tribune of the Pax-backed primary challenge.

Lincoln pardoned Biden’s great-great grandfather’s fistfight crime

Newly uncovered research reveals that on September 1st, 1864, President Abraham Lincoln issued a pardon for Union Army veterinary surgeon Moses Robinette, who was at that point incarcerated in a military prison in the Florida Keys, serving a sentence for beating the shit out of another civilian army employee during a possibly drunken fight months earlier, the Washington Post reports.

Donald addresses Navalny’s murder the only way he knows how

“The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country. It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, Radical Left Politicians, Prosecutors, and Judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Rigged Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA” posted the Angry Orange Man on Monday.
