Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday calmly walked up to and physically shoved Tennessee MAGA Congressman Tim Burchett and ran away whilst Burchett was speaking to NPR Capitol reporter Claudia Grisales, who writes Kev “walked by with his detail and shoved Burchett, [who] lunged towards me. I thought it was a joke, it was not. And a chase ensued…”

Per Grisales, Burchett caught up and at first tried to play it off like a joke with “Sorry Kevin didn’t mean to elbow -” then seriously started yelling, “Why’d you elbow me in the back Kevin?! Hey Kevin, you got any guts!?” McCarthy then said “I didn’t elbow you in the back” as he continued walking

“You got no guts, you did so… The reporter [Grisales] said it right there, what kind of chicken move is that? You’re pathetic man, you are so pathetic,” Burchett yelled before turning back to Grisales and telling her this was the first “communication” he had with McCarthy since voting with Matt Gaetz and six others to remove the cowardly Californian from the speakership. “That’s just it” as in their first and only exchange since ouster vote. “He’s just a jerk. He’s just a childish little…”

Burchett later told CNN’s Manu Raju his kidney was still in pain from the shove or elbow or whatever it was that McCarthy did, adding “I just don’t expect a guy who was at one time three steps away from the White House to hit you with a sucker punch in the hallway,” adding that the loser former House Speaker “is a bully with $17 million and a security detail. He is the type of guy that when you are a kid, he would throw a rock over the fence and run home to hide behind his mama’s skirt.”

At least a hundred House members on Tuesday morning sat for a screening of bodycam footage the Israeli Defense Forces recovered from Hamas terrorists killed or captured during the October 7th attack on southern Israel that left more than 1,400 dead and a few hundred more being held hostage in Gaza – footage so horrific that Jewish Insider’s Capitol correspondent Marc Rod reports seeing at least one member walking out in tears five minutes into the screening.

Period.” California Democrat Ted Lieu told Rod simply “Never again.” Other California Democrat Sara Jacobs said “It’s obviously horrific and gruesome and it’s hard to believe that in the year 2023 things like this are still happening, but unfortunately they are.” Car thief California Republican Darrell Issa shook his head and said “I’m feeling like I felt when I went to Birkenau… It’s just war crimes. Unbelievable.”

And yeah, we saw the images of the newborns being taken out of their incubators in a maternity ward in Gaza because the IDF destroyed their power supplies and generator fuel. The cruel and depraved indifference exhibited by that and all the other collateral damage the IDF is wreaking upon people is just a different kind of savagery than the up close and personal genocidal horrors of October 7th. There is no moral justification for either atrocity. The hard truth is that the Israeli government’s malign neglect and ghettoization of Gaza wrought October 7th on innocent Israelis and October 7th brought the IDF’s reckless and destructive response on innocent Palestinians.

Which means Trump likely just picked out what he wanted to hear and ignored Turley talking about what an appeal would look like.

It’s all just empty political threats and bullshit, raising the question of why he isn’t confidently assuring his fans that he’ll prevail in New York State’s appellate courts since the case is so unconstitutional.

Or maybe we’re just overthinking it and Trump knows he’s completely fucked beyond all hope, which is making him so upset he can’t even bother himself to pretend he’ll be vindicated afterward.

In his proffer session with Fulton County, Georgia prosecutors ahead of his plea deal last month, MAGA lawyer Kenny Chesebro tied disgraced former President Trump directly to the fake electors scam, describing a previously unreported meeting in which he had discussed the plot with Trump and shared a briefing memo with him about the slates, the Washington Post reports.

It’s the first time one of the people in the room with Trump admitted to explaining or updating Trump on the plot to assemble and submit fraudulent slates of electors from states Trump knew he lost to upset the tally in the Electoral College on January 6th.  The WaPo article does not note the date of the alleged meeting, the timing of which could play into Trump’s motive for tweeting out an order for his followers to assemble in Washington, DC on January 6th in the infamous “Will be wild” post.

Chesebro also admitted to physically carrying the forged slate of electors that came from Wisconsin to Washington, DC.  That document ultimately ended up in the hands of dopey Republican Senator Ron Johnson, who tried to shove it into Vice President Mike Pence’s hands on January 6th to further confuse the process.

Texas Republican Congressman Pat Fallon will not seek reelection for a third term in the House and will instead run for his old seat in the Texas state Senate next year, the Texas Tribune reports.

Yeah, you read that right. A federal representative has decided to self-demote back to the state legislature he served in prior to Congress. One that’s quite possibly even more dysfunctional than the chamber in which he currently serves, but Fallon seems actually pretty excited to head back home and swim in a smaller pond. “At the end of the day, the decision came down to, If we lose Texas, we lose the nation,” Fallon told the Tribune. “It’s just terribly important to ensure that Texas has written a great success story and I want to keep moving that forward.” Fallon added that his two years in the state Senate prior to the US House were “the best two years I ever spent” in politics.

In a move that will probably not be very well received among the fanboys already suspicious of and hostile toward Ukraine since Volodymyr Zelensky took office and even more so after Russian dictator Vladimir Putin launched his invasion early last year, Kyiv’s SBU intelligence service on Monday announced that an MP, Oleksandr Dubinsky, had been charged with treason after accepting at least $10 million in payments from the Kremlin for actions that “advantage of the tense political situation in Ukraine and discredit our state in the international arena,” Politico EU reports.

House Republicans have delivered for the American people with gas prices in 11 Southern states now averaging at under $3 per gallon, Yahoo Finance reports on a major accomplishment promised in tens of thousands of GOP campaign ads in the lead-up to the 2022 midterm elections.

They promised this and they made it happen with all their pro-energy policies like talking about how the American people have had enough of the Biden Administration’s economic policies that President Trump was so great for American energy that gas prices were $1.90 or even lower back in April of 2020. Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy can take a well-deserved victory lap since lowering gas prices was an important part of his pitch to elect members of his caucus like Nancy Mace, Matt Gaetz, Ken Buck, Tim Burchett, Bob Good, and others who were crucial to his winning majority.

But really every Republican in the House deserves credit after campaigning so hard on this important issue and actually making it happen. Voters don’t need to be bored with the details like which specific piece of legislation the House GOP passed and got signed into law that made this price drop possible. They don’t care about the jargon, they care about the results – just like they will when prices rise again and the leftist Democrats will try to avoid taking responsibility for it.
