Republican Miami mayor likely to launch presidential bid: report

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is scheduled to speak at the Reagan library next week to “share his vision for America,” a key step that has preceded the bids of Mike Pence, Asa Hutchinson, Nimrata “Nikki” Haley, and Chris Christie’s presidential campaigns so far, Florida Politics reports.

We get the whole “the sharks smell blood in the water” thing these days, they were circling even before the orange whale was harpooned on Thursday, betting that the actual contents of the indictment are so bad that Trump is crippled politically and that what’s going to come out isn’t already priced in with Republican primary voters. There’s a chance that Trump will be stuck with home confinement pretrial and (obviously) wouldn’t be able to campaign in New Hampshire and Iowa, but that’s likely slim considering he wasn’t actually arrested on Thursday. If the feds were going to keep him in some kind of custody they probably would’ve done it already.

Meaning the it’s likely the “This indictment so bad and he’s so fucked” angle is going to have to do the heavy lifting, probably gradually over time, helped with more indictments, that convince a large enough window of Trump hardcores to realize he’s not going to beat Biden and abandon him for practicality’s sake. Donald will still have a rock-solid floor of probably somewhere around 30 or 35 percent of the GOP primary electorate who will not under any circumstances at all vote for another candidate, leaving Ron DeSantis or Tim Scott only two thirds of the base with which to scrap together pluralities. Trump can win a state by one vote and capture all of the delegates thanks to some Latino Republican deciding last minute he wanted to go with Suarez instead of DeSantis.

Which is to say stay the fuck out and away from this if getting a Republican president elected is more important than a pointless vanity project. We already know which one Suarez is picking.

“Too much happy talk for way too long”

Fat former President Trump was, obviously, enraged to charged with seven very serious federal felonies, but as CBS’s Robert Costa describes it in a long thread of various updates, he had particular anger toward his closest sycophants who had downplayed the possibility that it would happen. “Too much happy talk for way too long,” one minion told Costa.

Trump’s team are also actually “thrown for a loop” and freaked out that Smith went for it in Florida, which, while the state obviously offers a friendlier pool of jurors and jurists, takes away both the political angle of bitching about Washington DC federal courts and the practical angle of it as there won’t be any delay with a fight over venue that could’ve cost months for Smith’s case. Costa describes law enforcement sources as telling him it’s “a grave, serious case in the eyes of many law-enforcement sources… those who know Jack Smith say he would NEVER bring charges of this nature unless he had tons of testimony and evidence and is convinced he will win” and that Smith is “someone who would hesitate to bring that charge unless it was nailed.”

FBI Whistleblower touted by GOP gave info to Project Veritas, Democrats call for investigation into potential perjury

One of the FBI whistleblowers touted by Republican House members as providing information showing partisanship in Bureau investigations had been disciplined by the Bureau for giving sensitive, confidential information to the right-wing propaganda outlet Project Veritas without authorization, NBC News reports.

During his testimony before the Jim Jordan-led witchhunt “weaponization” subcommittee that is incuriously not looking into how former Attorney General Bill Barr blocked investigations into Donald Trump’s misdeeds, Garret O’Boyle said under oath that the reason he was suspended was for his political views, not for any other breach of Bureau rules, regulations or laws such as authorized contact with the media.  Per the transcript during an interchange with a jacketless Jordan:

Jordan: Okay. But you did speak to the media?

O’Boyle: Not prior to being suspended, no.

Jordan: Okay. So your testimony is that you never spoke to the media, that it was entirely false, what was in the suspension notice that you were handed?

O’Boyle: Correct.

YouTube demonitizes Candace Owens videos for transphobia

College dropout and conservative provocateur Candice Owens, having found the niche as a minority supporter of Donald Trump to be a profitable one, will lose some income for promoting the hateful views conservative grifters find profitable, according to NBC News.

YouTube stopped Owens’s ability to monetize her videos on the platform that promote her horrific transphobic views, with Owens whining about censorship on a platform whose terms of service explicitly state it will not allow posters to profit from hate speech.  But because she claims to be a conservative, she doesn’t think the rules she accepted when she signed up for the platform don’t apply to her.

Posting as many as four times per day, Owens claimed on one of her YouTube videos that YouTube gave her “an option to delete every video that I’ve ever done pertaining to gender in which I have accurately gendered someone” but a YouTube spokesperson said it did nothing of the sort, but it blocked ads on “several videos on Candace Owen’s channel for violating our monetization policies, including those against hateful and derogatory content.”

Santos apparently doesn’t know we can see he’s blocked responses to tweet in which he claims he’s un-“fazed” by trolls

George Santos is one tough cookie.  Look at him standing up to “Twitter, trolls” complete with an oddly-placed punctuation mark in a post declaring trolls don’t bother him.  And there’s a key reason for that:  he’s blocked anyone but people he follows on Twitter from replying to his tweet, so he’s not getting any negative feedback.

Court clears way for ethics charges against Trump lawyer Clark

Politico reports former Justice Department attorney and Trump lackey Jeffrey Clark can face a disciplinary hearing at the DC Bar Association, a federal judge determined Thursday, shutting down an effort by Clark to move the case to a federal court where he was expected to try to delay processes with endless motions.

Once considered by Trump to be Attorney General in the waning days of his single term in office, Clark will now face disciplinary action for “dishonest” actions and  “seriously [interference] with the administration of justice” for drafting a letter as the acting head of the DOJ’s civil division urging state legislatures to reject the certified results of the 2020 election, one of many paths Trump tried to stay in office.  While Clark’s letter claimed serious irregularities in the way the vote was tallied, no such irregularities were found.

“Laura, I feel like we’re winning”

You don’t have to watch the full video here, just within the first few seconds you’ll get the golden quote from the evil QAdulteress right as the chyron says “potentially confirmed.” Emphasis ours.

If you stick around you will hear an almost verbatim retelling of the 2019 “Burisma scandal” that got the Orange God Emperor impeached for the first time. Seems like a lifetime ago when accountability for the fat bastard was so far out of reach. If you voted against him you made today possible: Donald getting indicted for serious federal felonies four years later while his minions are saying the same shit about Joe Biden they did back then. Feels like winning – and you helped do it.

Trump’s team already prepared for PR blitz when indictment came

The drop of the charges against Donald Trump wasn’t a surprise for Team Trump, who had already prepared for their media blitz to get on the air to defend their indicted Golden Calf, with a satellite truck already stationed outside his Bedminster, New Jersey golf course and a line of surrogates ready to jump in front of camera with prepared talking points, the Washington Post reports.

Trump’s lawyers, who were with him at Bedminister, reportedly received the phone call from Department of Justice attorneys informing them of the charges.  Trump immediately posted about the indictment, wanting to jump out in front of the prosecutors’ statement because he wanted to control the media message.

Frau Ingraham basically screaming at Hawley over Mitch’s silence

Fox News propagandist Laura Ingraham at least twice on Thursday night raged at Senate Minority Leader Moscow Mitch and his lieutenants for not speaking up to defend fat former President Trump, expecting Senator Bro from MO Josh Hawley to chime in. After all she got from Hawley was a “Good question, Laura” before launching into the usual deeply fascist, insurrectionist bullshit, Ingraham again tried to prod him into badmouthing Mitch in the above clip. Again she failed to get anything more than the company line of “This is not about Donald Trump. This is about the United States of America. This is about whether the constitution is still real in this country.”

Sealed court records indicate Trump isn’t only defendant

The South Florida US Court District’s PACER system completely crashed Thursday night as reporters rushed to try to pick up the Trump indictment, but the staff at Lawfare were able to get a look at it to find that, as might have been expected, it is sealed. However piecing it together with that, as Trump lawyer Jim Trusty just nearly fully confirmed on CNN, there’s a conspiracy count, they write that such a charge would imply that “Trump did not act alone. And the criminal docket in the Southern District of Florida, actually shows five sealed cases handed up today, two of them with successive case numbers. This may, or may not, suggest that there might be other defendants in the case.”

Separately the Messenger reports that one other person will be charged alongside Trump, which tracks with Lawfare spotting the two successive case numbers. But it could be as many as five.

MAGA Land not taking the bad news well at all

The other big day is finally here: Disgraced former President Trump has been indicted on federal felonies for stealing classified documents from the White House and man are his fanboys pissed.

“The blatant hypocrisy is sickening and beyond belief. Trump is correct: our country is in a crisis. No matter how one feels about Donald Trump, the weaponization of the DOJ against an American citizen or political enemy should frighten us all” – The current top comment on PJ Media’s story.

“I am not a Trump supporter, but if they’re going to indict him for these boxes of material, then there needs to be an indictment against Joe Biden, and all the boxes that they found at his various residences” – The current top comment on the Fox News story. Totally not a Trump supporter, lol.

“The risk these prosecutors are taking is enormous. One day, after the wheel has turned, President Trump will have every one of them disbarred” – Top comment on the Washington Times article.

“So when are the indictments coming for Biden? Or is he (D)ifferent?” – Top comment on RedState.

“Americans who’ve been watching the weaponization of federal law enforcement by the filthy communist/democrat party of pigs need to read the founding documents of our nation. They’re written in English (though eighteen century English, but easily understandable), and Americans to keep in mind that the ‘Bill of Rights’ aren’t freedoms that the government allows you, they are the rights that you were born with that government can’t take away from you” – The current top comment on the Breitbart story, which they sure took their time with in reporting.

FBI arrests Texas AG Ken Paxton’s corrupt businessman buddy

FBI agents on Thursday arrested Austin real estate developer Nate Paul, a scumbag connected to impeached Picasso-faced Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Texas Tribune reports.

It’s not clear yet if the charges concern anything related to his corruption schemes with Paxton, but Paul is firmly at the center of the scandals that led to the Trump ally’s impeachment stemming from Paxton’s deputies blowing the whistle against him in October 2020, alleging Paxton had abused his office to benefit Paul in a number of legal disputes. It ain’t raining, it’s pouring.

Legal expert says Trump is “immunized” due to the Durham report

Well we kind of lied in the headline. This MAGAchurch pastor – famous for saying all Jews are going to hell – isn’t an actual legal expert. He did however literally tell Fox News he just spoke with Trump and told him “that he is immunized against any indictment because of the Durham Report.”

Espionage Act violation included in Trump charges: report

Among the charges in the seven count federal indictment for fat former President Trump over his theft of classified documents is an Espionage Act violation, the Guardian reports, while adding that the twice-impeached loser will surrender himself at 3:00 PM in Miami on Tuesday.

Famous defendants charged under the Espionage act include Reality Winner and Chelsea Manning who did five and seven years in federal prison, respectively, following their convictions. Which is to say this is not something the fat fuck wants to be hit with while running for president again.

Trump indicted for stealing classified documents

Disgraced former President Trump announced Thursday on Truth Social that he’s been informed he’s been officially indicted by federal prosecutors for stealing classified documents from the White House following his humiliating defeat to President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Details to come.

Sources say there are seven charges in the indictment including illegal retention of classified documents, obstruction, and conspiracy – that last one’s going to be a bitch for him.

Watters admits GOP needs voters to be uneducated to win

“And [Biden] knows that now the way the parties are flipped over, the more education you have, the more likely you are to vote for a Democrat, so he’s pushing all of these young people inner uni, into universities,” Fox chauvinist Jesse Watters declares.  “They get brainwashed there and then he wipes their debts for votes.  It’s really shameful.  The Supreme Court’s gonna knock it down.”

Well, yes, more educated people tend to vote Democratic because they have better critical thinking skills.  But what the Fox bro misses is that Biden’s student loan forgiveness program includes anyone who went to questionable institutions like Liberty University or Bob Jones, the cultish “christian” colleges that demand students attend indoctrination sessions where conservative dogma is force-fed to students.  But what I truly love about this clip is Watters’s admission that conservatives need people to be uneducated so they don’t question what they’re told.

Team Orange’s “prosecutorial misconduct” accusation pretty weak

The “BOMBSHELL” accusation against Justice Department counterintelligence section chief Jay Bratt by Trump valet Walt Nauta’s lawyer Stanley Woodward appears to be pretty much bullshit going by the Guardian’s reporting citing a letter written by Woodward on the situation.

As the Guardian explains it, it’s common practice for prosecutors to do intel on defense lawyers prior to meetings and Bratt’s team did just that, finding that Woodward had applied for a judgeship in the Washington DC superior court. According to Woodward’s letter, Bratt brought it up during a meeting last November following Nauta’s testimony with Bratt also saying something like he didn’t think Woodward was a “Trump guy” and that “he would do the right thing” which Woodward apparently took as some kind of shakedown to induce him to push Nauta into cooperating.

Which sounds bad until you remember that a federal prosecutor has no influence whatsoever on the selection process for DC municipal courts, or that when Bratt said that along with “not a Trump guy” he probably meant not the kind of fuckup who would risk his law license and potentially his freedom by doing something stupid like Trump lawyers Evan Corcoran, Chrisitna Bobb, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, and so on and so forth. Certainly not if he wants to be a judge. And even if Bratt walked up to if not crossed a line in one exchange, is that supposed to implode the whole case against the fat orange fuck who stole classified documents and probably showed them to people?

Marge explains her compete lack of Constitutional understanding, claiming no knowledge of laws passed before she was born

Walking around the stage unshod and tromboning an index card she’s trying to read because she’s too vain to put glasses on, Marjorie Taylor Greene took a question about renewing the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 that separated the operations of investment banks from retail consumer banking, and her response illustrates why Marge has such a hard time understanding the Constitution, which was written in 1787.  “I was born in 1974, so I’m not familiar with that, but I can have my staff look into it.”
