Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, directly and voraciously criticized President Donald Trump for his lack of leadership in responding to the alleged Russian bounties on US military and his administration’s handling of the COVID epidemic.
Attacking the White House’s explanation that Trump hadn’t been informed of the Russian bounty program, Biden said, “If he wasn’t briefed, it was a dereliction of duty. And if he was briefed and he didn’t do anything, that’s a dereliction of duty.”
On the day his campaign released his plan for dealing with the COVID pandemic, Biden also lambasted Trump for his lack of attention to the public health crisis: “You know the steps you’ve taken so far haven’t gotten the job done, Mr. President. Fix the shortage of PPE for our health care workers before you tee off another round of golf.”
There have been more than 125,000 recorded deaths in the United States in the last four months due to COVID-19. During that time, Trump has played at least nine and as many as 13 rounds of golf.
