Senators Ted Cruz (TX) and Marco Rubio (FL), Congressman Chris Smith (NJ) and Ambassador for Religious Freedom Sam Brownback, all republicans, will be sanctioned by the government of China for criticizing the ruling Communist Party, according to NPR.
The four are being singled out for their critiques of China’s policies toward minority groups and people of faith.

The scope of the sanctions were not specified by the Chinese government, but the US prevented four Chinese officials from any property transactions with US citizens and barred three of them from traveling to the US.
