“The Trump administration will allow Dreamers to reapply for protections from deportation for another year as it seeks new avenues to dismantle portions of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, a senior administration official announced Tuesday” Politico reports.
“The one-year window for renewals grants the administration time to conduct a ‘comprehensive review’ of the program to assess its legality, the official said. The official declined to say how long that review would last, but period could keep the program in effect beyond November’s presidential election. The administration will continue to reject new applications for DACA, the official said.”
