Yet another major national news site has killed comments altogether as ABC News joins The Hill in murdering its Disqus community. Outside of the heavily curated New York Times and Washington Post, both of which use their own native comment CMS, along with Yahoo and Fox News with that “OpenWeb” piece of shit, no big name in news allows for comments anymore.
The Hill and ABC News are still listed at the bottom of the Disqus.com home page
ABC News joins The Atlantic, Politico, CNN, TMZ, and who the hell knows how many others to end comments completely in recent years while the Daily Caller, RT, and Daily Wire among others switched to inferior platforms (well, as of this writing they’re probably fully functional unlike Disqus which is being a pain in the ass today). Only the Gateway Pundit was the prodigal son here, having switched from Disqus to lousy “Insticator” and back again. Politics-wise, it would seem with Gateway, Breitbart, OAN, and a long list of others using the big D, that our universe is increasingly dominated by right wing audiences with only Political Wire, JoeMyGod, RawStory (ugh), Mediaite, Wonkette, and of course National Zero holding it down on the center-left.
ABC’s last Disqus thread is still up, so anyone who can spare a minute or two to invite some peeps into our family here, please do by all means. Just don’t have an emoji in your name, the assholes will pre-mod your comment. Most likely can’t use links either, so write it as “NationalZero dot com”.
