For a group trying to overthrow the Constitution, they sure did like to document their crimes. The Department of Justice and the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress have asked a group of Dutch documentarians for footage they shot of Trump dirty trickster Roger Stone in the weeks after the November 2020 election, the Washington Post reports.
Dutch filmmaker Christoffer Guldbrandsen has been asked to turn over at least 170 hours of video he shot of Stone and others planning their actions to undermine the results of the election, in which Joe Biden won the Presidency with 306 Electoral College votes and topped Donald Trump in the popular vote by seven million.
The film crew followed Stone for more than two months, including through the January 6th attack, when Stone and others were in a “war room” at the Willard Hotel in Washington watching and coordinating as hundreds of deluded Trump minions attacked the Capitol in an effort to stop Congress from tallying the certified slates of state electors, as is required by the Constitution.
A convicted felon who received a pardon from Trump for lying to investigators, witness tampering and obstruction of justice, Stone had been photographed at the Willard on January 6th watching the attack, seemingly enjoying the chaos. Stone was seen with members of the white nationalist groups The Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers in the days prior to the attack.
This is the second set of documentarians investigators have approached about footage. A different team was stationed at the White House on January 6th, and they have turned their footage over the January 6th Committee.
