- Kudos to Steve Bannon. He is such a consummate conman that even though he’s going on trial for defrauding people out of tens of millions of dollars, he has the Trump supporters he bilked money from believing that he’s the true victim and giving money to a legal defense fund.
- I don’t know if Joe Biden himself has seen the Dark Brandon meme, but he’s been more aggressive in his rhetoric and projecting the Dark Brandon aura since it went viral.
- The suggestions for my personal YouTube page are a mix of “how to” videos typically on starting a raised bed garden (which we have to rebuild because we removed our just prior to the pandemic), yoga practices, and bloopers from sports to shipping. And yes, I do find something interesting every time I log in.

- The GOP is in financial trouble, particularly the Senate candidates and the Republican organization responsible for winning the majority. Six of the seven richest members of Congress are all Republicans. If they just lowered the initial digit of their personal wealth by one–going from $200 million to $100 million for example–they could give their political causes more than half a billion dollars, and the “poorest” of them would still have $37 million in the bank. But was never really about political idealism, was it? If it was, they’d be spending their fortunes to get elected. Instead, they’re spending others’.
- If the best argument you got is, “His office isn’t that messy” or “My father is a very neat person,” you really lost the national security argument.
- My way of handling the special master: Bring it on. As soon as they release a single government document, file charges against Trump. All it takes is one document to make the charge. When they release a second, file a second charge. Each document is another count in an amended indictment. Death by 10,000 paper cuts.

- Like Joe Biden’s speech at Independence Hall, the Obamas’ speeches during their portrait unveilings stressed the ideals of American patriotism: service, gratitude, pride, and putting the nation before oneself. It’s sad the White House experienced a four-year gap in that attitude.
- We need to know the number of H2B visa holders who were working at Mar-a-Lago (particularly the number of Russians) who joined the staff after 2018. H2B visa holders can work up to three years in the US, and many Russians do for the hospitality industry.
- In the English-speaking world, the US consistently creates the best television shows when you look at creative quality and production value, but Australia is really close to on-par, surpassing British networks, which can be hit-and-miss.

- Got introduced to Vietnamese coffee and was smitten. Then found out it’s not as mysterious a recipe as first thought. It’s quite simple and will become a staple in my house.
- Theory: Trump’s fighting about the FBI search and recovery of government documents not because he’s worried he’ll get in trouble for classified documents. He’s not. He thinks he’s politically bulletproof. He’s really worried the FBI incidentally discovered evidence of his other crimes like money laundering, fraud and bribery. This explains why he was so publicly outraged when it happened: he didn’t know which of his various crimes the FBI was investigating.
