Former Trump White House Chief of Staff John Kelly entered a sworn statement as part of discovery in former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page’s wrongful termination lawsuit against the twice-impeached and twice-indicted loser affirming that Donald had inquired about having the IRS to investigate the two after firing them over the Russia investigation, the New York Times reports.
“President Trump questioned whether investigations by the Internal Revenue Service or other federal agencies should be undertaken into Mr Strzok and/or Ms Page,” Kelly wrote, adding “I do not know of President Trump ordering such an investigation. It appeared, however, that he wanted to see Mr Strzok and Ms Page investigated.” The revelation tracks with the Times’s 2022 reporting that former FBI Director James Comey and his deputy Andrew McCabe – also both revenge fired by Trump – had both been subjected to “random” IRS audits in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
Looking forward to Jim Jordan not investigating this “Weaponization” of the federal government against political opponents and not firing off subpoenas and not holding hearings about it.
