Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican supporter of insurrectionists from Georgia, isn’t a very good legislator or politician.  In office since 2021, she’s sponsored 23 different pieces of legislation, 12 of which aimed to impeach President Joe Biden or another member of the administration, and one to expunge Trump’s two impeachments–something not possible under current law.

But Marge’s latest fiasco, her attempt to censure Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for addressing a group that later conducted a peaceful demonstration in the Capitol–after they entered through the metal detectors at the doors of the building, not through windows–failed, with 23 Republicans standing up against Marge’s performance art undertaken as revenge for her censure for threatening the lives of members of Congress in 2021.

In other vote news, New York Republican George Santos will remain in Congress after the chamber fell far short of the two-thirds needed to expel him from the House by a 213-179 vote, with 19 members voting present.  More Democrats voted to retain him than Republicans voting to expel him, with Democrats somewhat split between noting that he hasn’t been found guilty yet of nearly two dozen fraud charges and quietly acknowledging that Santos will be an election year bonus for Democrats.
