US Attorney General Merrick Garland will on Tuesday tell Republicans to shut up and deal with it when it comes to the demented conspiracy theory that he and Joe Biden somehow rigged fat former President Trump’s upgrade to convicted felon status in Manhattan last week, according to opening statement obtained ahead of a House Judiciary hearing obtained by the Huffington Post.
They didn’t link a PDF of the actual remarks, but in it Garland will debunk “false claims that a jury verdict in a state trial, brought by a local District Attorney, was somehow controlled by the Justice Department,” declaring the “conspiracy theory is an attack on the judicial process itself.”
“I will not be intimidated. And the Justice Department will not be intimidated,” says Garland of the moronic push to hold him in contempt over the audio of Biden’s interview with documents fuckup special counsel Robert Hur – for which the House GOP already have a transcript. “We will continue to do our jobs free from political influence. And we will not back down from defending our democracy.”
