For the mainstream media’s five millionth or so “Let’s go on a little safari into MAGAmerica to talk to these morons” article, CNN this week went to Allentown, Pennsylvania and encountered 55 year-old Robert Harder who voted for the first time in his life last November, casting a ballot for convicted felon President Trump because “There’s no law and order anymore. The smoking marijuana stuff, that is getting out of hand. Go watch TV. You have men kissing and everything else and all the transgenders. You didn’t have that before. You know, there is a God. I’m Catholic.”
CNN then writes Harder “says there are too many Puerto Rican flags around Allentown, too few schools teaching cursive and beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance,” then goes back to quoting him directly: “I was just so disgusted. Just how everything in this world, you know it is going to crap.”
Has anything gotten better for him? Fuck no, but at least he admits it. “My generation, it’s not going to (positively) impact. It is going to hurt us,” said Harder, whose company ProDart makes wooden darts and dartboards in an Allentown industrial park. “In the future, for the next generation, it might possibly help them out. But it’s impacting the people that are here now today… in a not-good way.”
“We’re kind of slow right now,” said Harder, whose company employed 14 at its peak but is now down to five, including himself and his parents. “Money is tight. People are complaining rent is really high. A lot of places, just the cash flow isn’t there. So, I think everybody’s starting to become a little more conservative on spending right now.” Harder sources very little in foreign parts so he hasn’t gotten his ass kicked by the tariffs, but he notices it happening to other businesses nearby. He doesn’t plan on ever voting again because it “doesn’t matter.” Good. Die salty, you fucking idiot.
Then in the middle of the article there’s some Latina lib immigration activist who says so many people in her community turned toward Trump and blah blah blah before they get to Gerald Babb a totally MAGA America Fuckin First patriot who don’t give a damn about your gay-ass woke shit.
“I was a 171 when they first announced. Now I am at 218… If I can get about 350 it would be perfect, but as long as I am past 250, I have a chance,” said Babb, referring to the “seniority chart” at the local Mack truck factory where he works, one which the company recently announced it would lay off 250 to 350 as it shifts some production to Mexico. In the announcement they said that Trump’s tariff dumbassery factored into the decision, while the UAW and the local Republican congressman Ryan Mackenzie said Mack was just using him as an excuse – as if that fucking matters after Trump commanded UAW members to “SHOUT OUT TO YOUR UNION LEADERSHIP TO ENDORSE DONALD J TRUMP. I WILL KEEP YOUR JOBS AND MAKE YOU RICH!” during the big strike in September 2023.
Asked if he believes the tariffs were a factor, Babb believes “they played a part. Donald Trump could have had a little bit more finesse instead of using a blanket policy over everything.” Lol.
“A B+” is how Babb grades Trump after four months, despite the whole probably going to lose his job thing. “I haven’t seen anything yet,” the three-time Trump voters said when asked about how the Trump’s campaign promises to boost blue collar employment (snicker). “I would love to see more manufacturing jobs in the area,” he continued, almost as if he would have difficulty finding other employment should Mack cut him loose. As if he’s disappointed that Trump didn’t keep his job or make him rich as promised. As if for want of “a bit more finesse,” the war was all but lost.
“It’s stressful that I am (likely) going to be out of work in the near future. Because I want to provide for my wife and kids. It is the uncertainty that really gets to me,” the sad MAGA voter said.
