Head to the homepage at RiteAid.com to see the very brief message “All Rite Aid stores have now closed. We thank our loyal customers for their many years of support,” at the bottom of a banner encouraging customers to click to have their prescriptions transferred to other pharmacies, the digital epitaph for a chain that operated roughly 1,240 stores nationwide until just a few years ago.
Sure, Rite Aid did first declare bankruptcy in 2023 buuuuuuuut if we’re the “hottest country in the world” then why couldn’t they turn it around once the economic miracle of Trump returned? Wasn’t his election supposed to stop people from shoplifting deodorant and shit from the stores? Why did Rite Aid still fail when they knew that everything will be so much better in a year or so?
