“Someone needs to pay for the consequences of my bad decisions!” – The current top comment on a Saturday morning Fox Business News article headlined “Parents of woman killed in fiery Cybertruck crash target Tesla in suit alleging ‘defective design’ trapped her.” Californians Noelle and Carl Tsukuhara have sued Tesla over the November 2024 death of their 19 year-old daughter Krysta in the tragic crash caused by her asshole friend Soren Dixon driving drunk and stoned.
“Autopsy reports revealed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and meth in Dixon’s system, KTVU reported, adding that Tsukahara and [other victim Jack] Nelson each tested positive for alcohol and cocaine,” the commenter had pasted in from the article before his little quip about the importance of personal responsibility. Which made it plain he was faulting Krysta for being drunk and on coke rather than getting into a hideous shitbox estimated by at least one analyst to be 17 times more deadly for drivers and passengers in collisions resulting in vehicle fires than the infamous Ford Pinto with its industry-first-and-last rear-mounted fuel tank. That was a hard record to beat.
There’s an ethical question here about whether KTVU and other outlets should have even printed the toxicology results for Nelson and Tsukuhara’s autopsies. It’d be one thing for that to come out in reporting on Tesla’s legal defense as this case plays out and they inevitably cite it as a mitigating factor, but it’s not adding anything to the overall picture about this tragedy. Especially when dozens of victims were sober at the time they were trapped and burned alive in other Tesla crashes. It’s at best gratuitous for media outlets to be including that detail when those two weren’t the one driving drunk and high on coke and meth at 3:08 AM while home from college on Thanksgiving weekend.
But KTVU and then Fox Business News printed it and the MAGA troll in his safe space decided this was not tragic, like Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and Tsukuhara was fair game to wag the finger at 10 months after she suffered an agonizing death attempting to escape from the fiery wreckage Ketamine Brain’s geometric monstrosity. Fox set the table and their readers feasted happily as the very vast majority of them are all saying more or less the same thing blaming this particular victim.
They almost sound like how libs would react to this other bit of reporting from Fox Business News:
“Someone needs to pay for the consequences of my bad decisions!” would’ve been a great comment to put to Fox Business’s coverage of convicted felon President Trump’s plan to bail out farmers – a very much MAGA demographic who have been screwed by his stupid trade war shutting off access to foreign markets they depended on – with revenue generated by the tariffs all American consumers have paid on the products they buy. The lib trolls could’ve directly quoted the words of this stupid hick that not even Jim Varney wants to waste his time interviewing as she works really hard to blame the nonexistent “Green New Deal” and the Biden administration for the predicaments the vast majority of American famers inflicted on themselves with their voting choices. It also would’ve been fun to point out that entirely absent from her rant is any mention whatsoever of the massive labor shortages wrought on US agriculture by the Trump regime’s mass deportation drive.
Except nobody can comment on the $10 billion farm bailout story. Fox Business News’s web coverage of it is limited to that one clip above (and there’s no comment thread underneath). One video from their TV network. No text article on either FoxBusiness.com or FoxNews.com for a pretty big story – one that should be received positively in MAGA Land because America’s farmers winning with President Trump, thus libs owned. Or maybe completely avoiding it was the lib-owning by depriving the leftist trolls the perfect topic to extoll the virtues of personal responsibility.
