You will not be surprised to learn that convicted felon President Trump was not what most people would call “honest” when questioned specifically about the Warner Bros-Netflix-Paramount drama during his interview with NBC’s Tom Llamas last week, per CNN media guy Brian Stelter’s newsletter.

“You are close with the Ellisons who are trying to stop a merger between Warner Bros, Discovery, and Netflix. This deal could change the make-up of the media as we know it. Are you personally gonna get involved in that deal?” asked Llamas, to which Trump said “I haven’t been involved. I must say, I guess I’m considered to be a very strong president. I’ve been called by both sides, it’s the two sides, but I’ve decided I shouldn’t be involved. The Justice Department will handle it,” and blah blah blah too senile to recall the word “antitrust” and blah blah blah. Emphasis added on the denials.

The interview, aired prior to the Super Bowl, was taped last Wednesday – timing that Stelter finds interesting because it was most likely after the fat bastard welcomed loyal oligarch Larry Ellison to the White House – as well as two days before the Wall Street Journal reported that the Regime DOJ’s Antitrust division had opened an investigation into Netflix… And just Netflix as it is right now.

Not like an investigation of the streaming giant’s bid to acquire Warner, which is still at a stage far too early for there to be any official regulatory scrutiny from the division. As for Trump’s meeting with Ellison, Stelter’s sources did not provide any detail on what they talked about but you have to be pretty goddamned daft if you think CNN’s future didn’t come up one way or another given that months ago Ellison specifically told Trump he would fire Erin Burnett, Brianna Keilar, and other anchors the fat bastard hates if and when he and his dickhead son can get the keys to the building.

Once again, this is stupid because Netflix is not actually getting in the way of the Ellisons eventually acquiring CNN as the streamer will spin it off along with a bunch of legacy cable assets. Paramount-Skydance will be free to buy it up in 18 to 24 months or so. It’s just a shiny object Trump wants now and the Ellisons seem only too happy to dangle it in front of the fat, impulsive fuck. Maybe he thinks they’d be able to complete the acquisition and then gut the network, turn it into a MAGA propaganda mill before the midterms so sooner is better but who the hell really knows what type of bullshit the Ellisons are feeding him. They could be telling him they’ll get Sydney Sweeney to change her name to Ivanka and anchor in a soaking wet v-neck five nights a week as long as Netflix’s bid is halted.

And in news that might be relevant to the Netflix “investigation,” here’s the Antitrust Division chief Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater announcing just this morning that she’s hanging it up:

Unless the “Mother of Gen Z boys; grateful wife; immigrant; Catholic; Trump 45 and 47” in her Twitter bio is all bullshit it would seem Slater’s actually MAGA and not like some anti-anti-Trump Mitch McConnell type “RINO” douchebag who slipped past the ideological vetting system. So for her to be jumping ship as it speeds towards an apocalyptic battle with the Obama-Netflix carrier group.

Could be that what’s suboptimal timing for the team is optimal for Slater’s goal of maintaining her professional reputation – since her fat fucking idiot boss is unable to stop himself from handing Netflix’s legal team evidence they need to get a judge to toss any case brought by the division – and possibly even her license to practice in a court of law in the United States – since her fat fucking idiot boss is probably pressuring her to make shit up for the government’s complaint.

Aaaaand CNN reports that Slater was fired for having been “repeatedly at odds with Attorney General Pam Bondi and the West Wing for months,” but they don’t mention Netflix specifically. The cases they do bring up is some entertainment arena vendor scumbag Trump pardoned in October that Slater had built a case against and another upcoming trial against Ticketmaster/LiveNation.

Timing’s still interesting given the Journal’s story being the latest big news out of the division.
