Donald Trump’s presidency has caused the image of the United States to plummet in the eyes of the world, particularly when it comes to how the US is handling the coronavirus pandemic, a new Pew Research poll shows.

The US ranked last in all 13 countries polled when asked about the satisfaction of how countries and international organizations have handled the coronavirus. With Trump at the helm, the US even trails China in garnering people’s support.
In a poll just of citizens of Western Europe, Trump has created a free-fall of public confidence in the US presidency. Whereas President Barack Obama enjoyed greater than 50% confidence ratings even during the depths of the Great Recession, Trump wallows between 10-16%.
In every country surveyed, the populations of those nations felt lack confidence in Trump’s leadership, undermining Trump’s repeatedly claims that he has regained world confidence. Contrarily, during the Obama Administration, the countries expressed a overwhelming confidence in both the United States and the president.
Looking at South Korea as an example, confidence in Trump’s administration is just 17%, versus a low of 75% during Obama’s terms in office.
