As his father, a rapist, sought the Republican nomination for president last year, his eldest son Eric tried to leverage deals to open up a hotel, first at an old Israeli government office in Jerusalem and then at an ongoing construction in Tel Aviv, the New York Times reports.
Eric Trump reportedly tried to get permission to renovate the former site of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, located blocks from the nation’s high court building, into a hotel in the style of Trump previous hotel in Washington, DC, where the Trump family laundered hundreds of thousands of dollars from foreign governments and domestic lobbyists. The second proposed location involved licensing a modern tower near the Defense Ministry offices in Tel Aviv.
Neither deal was completed; negotiations were put on hold after the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023. “The deal absolutely would have gotten done if not for October 7th,” Eric told the Times, adding that discussions would continue “when the current situation that we’re all witnessing on TV every day is resolved.” Nothing from the Trump Org about not doing foreign deals when his father was running for office or in office.
