Yum Brands, the corporation that owns KFC and other restaurants, has shut down the dining rooms in its corporate-owned fast food establishments in Florida, which is facing record new coronavirus cases, and it advised its fanchisees in Florida and other hotspots to do the same, according to the Washington Post.
The businesses will still be able to fulfill delivery, carry-out and drive-thru orders, however.
Florida, Texas, Arizona and California are facing spikes in new coronavirus cases after implementing reopening policies. California announced yesterday that it was ordering some businesses to close again in response.
Yum Brands owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Habit Burger Grill. As of March, it had shut down 7,000 of its company-owned restaurants around the world. In total, the corporation and its franchisees operate more than 50,000 locations worldwide.
