More than 70 days after the Biden-Harris campaign was declared the victor in the November elections, Mike Pence called Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Thursday to offer his congratulations and to offer help in the transition, the Associated Press reports.
Donald Trump has yet to concede the election or call President-elect Joe Biden. Third First Lady Melania Trump has also eschewed tradition and refused to invite incoming First Lady Jill Biden to the customary lunch.
Pence, who will attend the Biden-Harris inauguration in five days, is apparently attempting to repair his image after four years of kowtowing to the cantankerous Trump, perhaps in an effort to maintain some future in politics.
