A former Republican candidate for Palm Beach County commissioner and a long-time heavyweight in county Republican politics was arrested by federal agents Wednesday after being identified as participating in the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol thanks to photos she posted on Facebook, the Palm Beach Post reports.
Sixty-seven-year-old Jody Tagaris was arraigned on four federal misdemeanors including illegally entering a restricted building and being disruptive and disorderly that could bring a three year prison sentence if convicted on all counts with the sentences running consecutively. She was released on $50,000 bond.
A co-worker of Tagaris tipped off the FBI to a photo on her Facebook page showing her sitting in a broken window in the Capitol. The photo was captioned, “The Capital. … back at hotel safe! Got tear gassed but okay!”
