June 2nd, 2021: Earlier today Twitter users were outraged after a tweet from VOX reporter Aaron Rupar. Rupar looked at Trump’s Facebook page and saw the “zombie page”, which is still there, but which Trump is no longer able to post content to. He then erroneously claimed that Trump’s page had been reactivated by Facebook. Rupar later retracted his claim, deleted the erroneous tweets, and issued a retraction:
Deleted tweets saying the status of Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts changed because apparently that’s not the case. I didn’t realize those pages remained live to commenters even after he was suspended. Facebook says nothing has changed & he’s still indefinitely suspended.

The error of Rupar’s tweets was confirmed by multiple other sources:

Including political science and rhetoric professors who study Trump and write about political propaganda.
What this tells me is that none of you have had a reason to go to Trump's zombie fb page these many months. I'm ok with that. (I had, which is why I knew that they were always already there)

Nonetheless, MAGA shitheads are insisting that Trump is live on Facebook again, and this is a great victory for das Orangefuhrer.
Bret Baier on Fox just now: "It does appear" that Trump's accounts "have been reactivated" by Facebook. But FB says nothing has changed >>> https://t.co/bq6Y3sXmZj

TRUMP BACK ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM. AWESOME! NOW HE CAN GET THE WORD OUT. (And waste a lot of time scrolling through pics. Like the rest of us)

The moral of the story: always verify information you get from Twitter, rather than just assuming it’s true. Also, don’t believe anything you’re told by shitheads like Bret Baier or Greg “Where’s my filet-o-fish” Kelly.
