Since the untimely demise of his stupid blog earlier this month, finding statements from Former President Apeshit is once again a pain in the ass, forcing us at National Zero to rely on journalists from bigger organizations to tweet out screenshots of the statements emailed to them, upon which we OCR it and paste it into our article text here to annoy the shit out of our readers.
All of this is to say we don’t know if Trump has already addressed the New York Times’ bombshell Thursday night report detailing secret subpoenas to Apple for personal data from Congressmen Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell, their staffs, staff on the House Intel Committee, and even a minor related to one of those persons. We did see he put out a statement on Friday spouting some nonsense about having been asked to write books but he’s “working on a much more important project right now”, whatever the hell that means, but no sign yet of one on the NYT report.
Now of course this could change by the time I hit publish on this article, but it is curiously inconsistent with the way Trump reacted to other articles in the New York Times since he’s been out of office. At least twice by our count he’s put out statements specifically denying their reporting, both in early April, the first about his recurring campaign donations scam, the second on Matt Gaetz allegedly asking him for a pardon. So we’ll see if he “punches back” at this one too, but don’t be surprised either if he wants to pretend he never saw it.
