A NASA photographer captured a series of photographs on Friday of the International Space Station crossing the face of the Sun at the very moment two astronauts were on a space walk to install a new solar panel array, according to Space.com.
Thomas Pesquet of the European Space Agency and Shane Kimbrough of NASA were installing a Roll Out Solar Array, known as an iROSA, which will increase the power to the station by 20%, as the station transited between the Earth and the Sun.
A NASA photographer in Nellysford, Virginia captured seven images of the transit as the station was traveling 5 miles per second, or 18,000 miles per hour.
