Chicago Public Schools will start the upcoming school year completely remotely, ditching a hybrid model that would have put students and teachers in classrooms this Fall, the Washington Post reports.
The third-largest school district in the nation, after New York City and Los Angeles, Chicago Public Schools becomes the largest to announce it will go to a complete online system in the face of the coronavirus outbreak.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that the school system will continue to conduct remote learning through the first term, meaning there will be no in-person classes until November 1st at the earliest.
