The House January 6th Select Committee said Friday they’re cooperating with the Justice Department’s requests for transcripts of testimony, NBC News reports. The committee is “engaged in a cooperative process to address the needs of the Department of Justice. We are not inclined to share the details of that publicly. We believe accountability is important and won’t be an obstacle to the department’s prosecutions,” per a statement to NBC. The signal of cooperation follows a letter from the Department to the committee saying they hadn’t coughed up evidence the grand jury needs to continue investigating the coup attempt. “It is now readily apparent that the interviews the Select Committee conducted are not just potentially relevant to our overall criminal investigations, but are likely relevant to specific prosecutions that have already commenced,” DOJ officials wrote.
